SUMMARY:Mount Kilimanjaro & Zanzibar
DESCRIPTION:TANZANIA\nAt 5\,895 meters (19\,341 feet) Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and the tallest freestanding mountain in the world; it is one of the Seven Summits. The snow-capped peak of Africa is a dormant volcano and can be found inside the Kilimanjaro National Park of Tanzania. \nThe name Zanzibar derives from the Arabic word for black land or land of the black people\, coined by the merchants who saw black people for the first time back in the day. The original inhabitants migrated from South Africa\, arriving on Dhows pushed by strong wind going off course around the 5th century. \nItinerary : \nDay 1(4-July): Land in Tanzania / Bus ride from Nairobi if you are joining us for Kenya too \nDay 2(5-July): Scenic Kilimanjaro flight \nDay 3 (6-July): Fly to Zanzibar \nDay 4(7-July): Explore Zanzibar \nDay 5(8-July): Explore Zanzibar \nDay 7(9-July) : Fly back \n  \n\nPackage Per Person 45000 p.p\nIncludes: \n6D/5n Stay in double occupancy Hotel \nBreakfast (5) \nAirport to hostel transfers (SIT) \nBus travel from Nairobi to Tanzania \nAdmin from Travel Buddies Group \n\n  \nExcludes: \nInternational flight fare \nVisa \nPersonal expenses \nLunch & dinner are not included \nMount Kilimanjaro ride (from price) – US$520 \nMedical Insurance \n  \nHow to book? \nWhatsapp us at 9029099709 or email us at info@travelbuddiestalk.com \nTHINGS TO KNOW BEFORE VISITING ZANZIBAR\n\nTANZANIAN VISA\nFor visiting Zanzibar you need a Tanzanian visa. If you’re flying straight into Zanzibar you’ll get your Tanzania visa there. It covers Zanzibar and the mainland and vice versa. Citizens from most western countries can get them on arrival. It costs $50 for a single entry. You can pay by cash or card. For US citizens the visa costs $100 but it is a multi-entry visa.\n\n\nPASSPORT\nYour passport needs to be valid for at least 6 more months and have 1 blank passport page.\n\n\nYELLOW FEVER\nIf you’re flying to Tanzania and Zanzibar from places without a Yellow Fever risk (Europe\, USA\, Australia etc.) you shouldn’t need a Yellow Fever certificate. BUT If you are transiting through a country with a risk of Yellow Fever (Kenya\, Ethiopia) for more than 12 hours – sometimes even less\, you might need one. You can see the countries with the risk of yellow fever (YF) here.\n\n\nVACCINATIONS\nBesides Yellow fever\, and even that with exceptions\, there are no obligatory vaccinations. There are recommended ones from World Health Organisation (WHO) but consult your doctor before your visit. Recommender vaccinations are hepatitis A and B\, typhoid\, cholera\, rabies\, meningitis\, tetanus … Have a look at the recommended vaccines for Tanzania here.\n\n\nTRAVEL INSURANCE\nMake sure to purchase travel insurance before your travel. I have seen two people needing medical assistance in Zanzibar. One was because of heat stroke. Another sprained her ankle. Seriously\, you never know\, so better be safe than sorry.\n\n\nDRESS CODE\nMajority of the population is Muslim. Respect their culture and dress appropriately. This is especially true when visiting local villages or walking around the streets in Stone town. Wearing a bikini on a beach is perfectly fine.\n\n

SUMMARY:CAMBODIA
DESCRIPTION:CAMBODIA\nEnglish Cambodia is an anglicisation of the French Cambodge\, which in turn is the French transliteration of the Khmer. \nMagical\, mysterious\, and absolutely mesmerizing\, Angkor Wat is one of those bucket list places that every human should experience before they die. Here is the largest Buddhist temple on earth\, which took 30 years to build during the 12th century (113-5BC) and spans over 208 hectares (500 acres). \nCambodia is a Southeast Asian nation whose landscape spans low-lying plains\, the Mekong Delta\, mountains and Gulf of Thailand coastline. Phnom Penh\, its capital\, is home to the art deco Central Market\, glittering Royal Palace and the National Museum’s historical and archaeological exhibits. In the country’s northwest are the ruins of Angkor Wat\, a massive stone temple complex built during the Khmer Empire. \nWe are starting 2023 with a country rich in history and gorgeous like heaven. Join us for only Cambodia or Join our Vietnam + Cambodia combo trip to explore the unknown. \n  \nItinerary:\nDay 1: Land in Siem Reap\nDay 2: Angkor Wat\nDay 3: Explore Siem Reap\nDay 4: Drive to Phnom Penh\nDay 5: Explore Phnom Penh\nDay 6: Fly Back\nDay 1 : Land in Siem Reap\nSiem Reap\, a resort town in northwestern Cambodia\, is the gateway to the ruins of Angkor\, the seat of the Khmer kingdom from the 9th–the 15th centuries. Angkor’s vast complex of intricate stone buildings includes preserved Angkor Wat\, the main temple\, which is pictured on Cambodia’s flag. Giant\, mysterious faces are carved into the Bayon Temple at Angkor Thom. \nLand in this beautiful city and check in at the hotel. \nWe will go to see the magnificent Angkor Wat Sunset! \nOvernight Stay in Siem Reap \nDay 2 : Angkor Wat\, Ta Phrom\, Preah Khan Temple\,Bayon\nToday\, we will visit the mighty Angkor Wat and 3 other temples\, which are the best ones and must be on every itinerary. \nAngkor Wat is dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu who is one of the three principal gods in the Hindu pantheon (Shiva and Brahma are the others). Among them he is known as the “Protector.” The major patron of Angkor Wat was King Suryavarman II\, whose name translates as the “protector of the sun.” \nTa Prohm is the undisputed capital of the kingdom of the Trees’. It has been left untouched by archaeologists except for the clearing of a path for visitors and structural strengthening to stave of further deterioration.\nA Sanskrit inscription on stone\, still in place\, give details of the temple. Ta Prohm 3\,140 villages. It took 79\,365 people to maintain the temple including 18 great priests\, 2\,740 officials\, 2\,202 assistants and 615 dancers. Among the property belonging to the temple was a set of golden dishes weighing more than 500 kilograms\, 35 diamonds\, 40\,620 pearls\, 4\,540 precious stones\, 876 veils from China\, 512 silk beds and 523 parasols. Even considering that these numbers were probably exaggerated to glorify the king\, Ta Prohm must have been an important and impressive monument.\n\n\n\nPreah Khan temple is located in the Angkor Archaeological Park and is still largely unrestored. It is one of the larger temple complexes within the historic park. Preah Khan translates to “Holy Sword” in Khmer\, named by Jayavarman VII in honour of his battle victory against the invading force of Chams\, who belonged to a kingdom in what is now Vietnam\, in the year 1191. \nThis majestic temple complex is surrounded by a moat\, and its surface area stretches over a swatch of land that’s 800 meters by 700 meters\, enclosing an area of 56 hectares. Its aesthetics are very similar to nearby famous Angkor temple Ta Prohm\, with vegetation and trees seeming to swallow the ruins. \n\n\nThe Bayon was built as a Buddhist temple. A statue of the main idol\, a seated Buddha image sheltered under the hoods of the snake Mucalinda\, was discovered in a pit under the main shrine. \nTurned into a Hindu temple\nA few decades after the death of King Jayavarman VII\, the temple was turned into a Hindu temple when King Jayavarman VIII reverted the official Khmer religion back to Hinduism; images of the Buddha were destroyed or turned into Hindu images. \nOvernight Stay in Siem Reap \nDay 3 : Explore Siem Reap\nToday\, we will explore Siem Reap. \nEat Red Ants\nWhen in Cambodia\, you should eat as the locals eat. We’re not talking about going all out with spiders or larva. Start small with yummy dishes like beef and ants. The flavour of the ants is bitter and the crunch is reminiscent of eating caviar. The balance of beef and gravy compliments each spoonful of ants quite well\, especially with a beer on the side. \nOrder this plate at a snazzy restaurant like Marum where dishes (and experiences) are meant to be shared or try Mie Café whose in-house chef makes the most gourmet red ant dishes in the whole city. \n  \nOld Market\n\nGet the local experience at The Old Market\, or as the locals call it “Psar Chaa”. Built in the 1920’s\, here is where residents of Siem Reap come to get their produce\, grains\, and meat for homecooked meals. \nThe market is divided into small sections selling different goods. Go to the fruit section where you can get organic fruit like mangosteens and dragon fruit at local prices\, walk down the dim alleyways of the meat section where you’ll find freshly made sausages hanging on strings\, or walk through the rows of vendors sitting on straw floor mats selling dried seafood. \n\nAspara Dance Performance\n\n\nA mixture between Cirque du Soleil and a Native American Pow Wow\, the Aspara Dance performance is absolutely mesmerizing. \nAspara\, meaning “beautiful girls” in Khmer\, was historically performed by girls who were believed to have supernatural powers. The dance stems all the way back to Angkorian times when Suryavarman II was in power. Back then\, these goddess-like women only danced for the royal family. \nThese days\, you can be royalty when you snag a ticket for the evening performance. The show is a full-on production with captivating dancers\, intricate costumes\, professional lighting\, and intense backdrops that lasts for over an hour. \n\n\n\nWander Pub Street\n\n\nWith so much culture\, history\, and ancient architecture to take in during the day\, you might just want to let off some mindless steam at night. For a relaxed evening of western food and a wild night of Angkor beers on tap\, head to Pub Street. \nThis long walking road surrounded by neon signs\, bars touting bucket drink specials\, and groups of social travellers everywhere you turn\, Pub Street has become the official backpacker’s oasis in the middle of Siem Reap. \nDay 4 & 5: Phnom Penh\nToday\, we will travel 350+ km to Phnom Penh. \nVibrant\, bustling Phnom Penh is the heartbeat of Cambodia. This sprawling capital\, spread out beside the banks of both the Tonlé Sap and Mekong Rivers\, is a city of wide central boulevards and skinny back alleys\, where modern and old collide. \nHighlights\nRoyal Palace\nStupas of Wat Ounalom\nCruise on Phnom Penh’s Riverss\nRussian Market\nSisowath Quay\n\n\n\nDay 6\nFly back to your home sweet home with happy memories. \n\nPackage Early Bird (before 15 Oct): 27999 INR/p.p \nPackage Normal (After 15 Oct) : 29999 INR/p.p \nINCLUSIONS \n\nAccommodation for 6 days & 5 nights along with breakfast\nAirport transfers (2)\nTransfers from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh\n\nEXCLUSIONS \n\nFlight tickets; International as well as internal.\nVisa charges\nLunch/Dinner\nBeverages or meals are other than those mentioned in the plan.\nAnything not mentioned above in inclusions.\n\nPAYMENT TERMS \nYou can secure a spot with an advance payment of Rs. 10\,000/-. SUMMARY:PORTUGAL
DESCRIPTION:PORTUGAL\n  \nPortugal is a country where the sun shines 300 days a year\, a country with an amazing history\, an extraordinary culture\, delicious gastronomy\, magnificent landscape\, beautiful beaches\, mountains greater than you can imagine and warm people that will make you feel at home.\nPortugal is one of those rare countries in the world that once you visit\, you will never forget. \n(Day 1) Land in Porto (Fly from India/Barcelona)\, \nPorto City in Portugal \nPorto is a coastal city in northwest Portugal known for its stately bridges and port wine production. In the medieval Ribeira (riverside) district\, narrow cobbled streets wind past merchants’ houses and cafes. São Francisco Church is known for its lavish baroque interior with ornate gilded carvings. The palatial 19th-century Palácio de Bolsa\, formerly a stock market\, was built to impress potential European investors. \nClérigos Tower is the iconic baroque bell tower of Clérigos Church. An old tram follows the river to beachside bars in affluent Foz. Up the coast is fishing port Matosinhos\, where seafood restaurants offer grilled sardines on the street. The 1886 Dom Luís iron bridge has a walkway that crosses the Douro River to the port wine lodges of Vila Nova de Gaia. São Bento train station’s immense azulejo tile panels depict battles and rural life in Portugal. The famous Lello & Irmão bookstore has ornate art nouveau features\, and the Serralves Museum traces the history of contemporary art. \nThe double-decker Dom Luis I bridge is an icon of the city of Porto. It spans the River Douro linking the Port wine houses of Vila Nova de Gaia with the bustling downtown Ribeira district of Porto. Construction took place between 1881 and 1886 with the bridge being built adjacent to an existing bridge which it replaced. The granite pillars of the original bridge are still in place\, standing on the Ribeira like a pair of gate posts. \nIt is probably no coincidence that the bridge passes more than a fleeting resemblance of its neighbouring bridge\, the Dona Maria Pia bridge. Both bridges consist of huge and complex ironwork frameworks with a great arch supporting the transit way. This should come as no surprise as the D. Maria Pia bridge was designed by Gustave Eiffel of Paris tower fame! \nDom Luis I Bridge http://travelbuddiestalk.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Dom-Lu%C3%ADs-I-Bridge-1024×632.jpgOpened in 1876 the D. Maria Pia bridge held the record for the largest span of any bridge of this type until work began on the Dom Luís bridge. The names of the two bridges came from the then king of Portugal\, Luís I\, and his wife\, Maria Pia of Savoy. With a span of 172 metres (564 ft) and a height of 44.6 metres (146 ft) this was a great feat of engineering. The designer this time\, Téophile Seyrig\, had been Eiffel’s partner on the previous project and showed himself to be a more than able engineer with this bridge. \nOne of the notable features of the Ponte Dom Luís I is it’s two levels; one on top of the arch and the other suspended below it. Both decks were initially intended to carry road traffic but these days the top carries the Porto Metro trains as well as having a pedestrian walkway. It is worth making the crossing on the upper level\, although being 60 metres (190 ft) above the waters of the Douro\, it might not be for everyone! \nSão Bento is Porto’s central station\, although the exterior of this grand building barely hints at its purpose. Completed in 1916 the station is built on the site of a 16th-century Benedictine monastery – from which the name São Bento is derived. \nThe monastery itself was almost destroyed by fire in 1783\, and despite being rebuilt was barely standing at the end of the 19th century. \nSão Bento Railway Station was designed by a local architect\, José Marques da Silva\, with much of the influence coming from the French Beaux-Arts style. The first stone was laid by King Carlos I in 1900\, although he was assassinated eight years later\, before the station was completed. \nPerhaps the best-known feature of the Estação de São Bento is the magnificent tilework in the main vestibule. These azulejo masterpieces consist of around 20 thousand tiles and depict a range of historic events along with scenes of Portuguese life and the history of transport. They are the work of Jorge Colaço\, the most eminent azulejo painter of the day. He spent over 10 years painting the epic scenes which include the Battle of Valdevez (1140)\, the meeting of the knight Egas Moniz and Alfonso VII of León (12th century)\, the arrival of King John I and Philippa of Lancaster in Porto (1387) and the Conquest of Ceuta (1415). \nLivraria Lello Porto: “WOW\, look at that !” “That” is the Livraria Lello Porto and you have never seen anything like it. Although come to think of it\, it probably reminds you of somewhere… \nFall in love with this fabulous bookshop and the totally unique spectacle of amazing interior architecture. This sumptuous bookshop inspired (yes\, that’s it !) the Harry Potter library in Hogwarts. In fact\, J.K Rowling lived in Porto teaching English in the early 1990s. Remember those awesome stairs and the impressive mouldings? \nClerigos Tower \nThe Clerigos Tower is one of the paradigmatic architectural landmarks of Porto. The structure is\, in fact\, part of the Clerigos Church\, representing its bell tower. The church proper was built between 1732 and 1750\, but the construction works at the Clerigos Tower started no sooner than 1754\, only to be completed in 1763. It was designed by Nicolau Nasoni\, the Italian architect who left a strong artistic print on Porto since he also contributed\, at least in part\, to the design of sundry other landmarks of the city\, such as the Porto Cathedral\, the Church of Mercy and the very Clerigos Church. \nAlas\, photos and filming are strictly forbidden and the sales staff are very vigilant. So soak in as many impressions as you can and remember it always. \nTaylor’s Port House Wine Tasting: \nTaylor’s is the archetypal Port house and its wines the quintessential Ports. Established over three centuries ago in 1692\, Taylor’s is one of the oldest of the founding Port houses. It is dedicated entirely to the production of Port wine and in particular to its finest styles. \nAbove all\, Taylor’s is regarded as the benchmark for Vintage Port. Noted for their elegance and poise as well as for their restrained power and longevity\, Taylor’s Vintage Ports are blended from the finest wines of the firm’s own quintas or estates\, Vargellas\, Terra Feita and Junco. These three iconic properties\, each occupying a distinct geographic location and with their own unique character\, are the cornerstone of the company’s success and the main source of its unique and inimitable house style. \nQ.How much does a ticket cost and what does it include? \n12€/person: audio tour + port wine tasting // €6: children (8 years and upwards) for audio tour\, with grape juice and crackers \nQ.What wines will I taste? \nTwo of Taylor’s iconic Port wines to taste: Chip Dry – Extra Dry White and Late Bottled Vintage (LBV)\, invented by Taylor’s in the 1930’s and 1970’s respectively. \nLagos:  (Day 2 & 3) \nTake a morning train from Porto (06:22am) to Lisbon (09:22am) and change train to Lagos (02:00pm). \nLagos is a historic and lively city that is situated on the beautiful Western Algarve coastline. As a holiday destination\, Lagos offers visitors glorious beaches\, buzzing nightlife and a charming historic centre\, which has retained its traditional character and charm. Within the Lagos region is an abundance of varied sights and activities\, which makes the city a fantastic destination for tourists who want more than just great beaches and glorious weather for their holiday. \nPraia do Camilo \nAlong with neighbouring Praia Dona Ana\, the beach of Camilo is Lagos’ (if not one of the Algarve’s) iconic beach. Whilst Dona Ana may have the slight edge when it comes to outlandish\, cohre rock formations and grottoes\, Praia do Camilo shares the same golden sand and crystal clear\, azure waters. \nTo reach the beach involves negotiating the 200 wooden steps which wind their way down the orange cliffs. These same cliffs offer shelter from the ocean winds making Praia do Camilo a veritable suntrap and safe for swimming. A short walk to the south of Camilo is the stunning Ponta da Piedade\, a series of sandstone rock arches and sea stacks off Lagos’ most southerly headland. \nPonta da Piedade \nThe western Algarve comprises of vast sandy beaches and towering cliffs\, many of which have been eroded and shaped by the powerful seas that batter the coastline. Along this fascinating coastline\, the Ponta da Piedade is considered as the finest natural feature\, with the cliffs of the headland carved into rock pillars\, natural tunnels and hidden grottos. These golden sandstone cliffs of misshaped angles stand at stark contrast to the deep turquoises and greens of the sea waters\, and the entire region is best described as simply stunning. \nOld Lagos \nThe historic core of largos has whitewashed houses on a warren of patterned streets still partially contained by its 16th-century walls. \nThese are best seen on the Jardim da Constituição by the water\, protecting the seat of the Governors of the Algarve province when Lagos was capital between 1576 and 1756. Close by there’s a monument to a grim period of the city’s history; the Mercado de Escravos was Lagos’ slave market for about 250 years from 1444\, and is a reminder that the Age of Discovery had a human cost. \nOne hero from that period was Henry the Navigator\, whose expeditions departed from the harbour in Lagos in the 15th century. \nHe is commemorated with a statue at the Praça Infante D. Henrique. \nLisbon:  (Day 4 & 5 ) \nTake a train Early morning train to Lisbon(06:22am to 10:00am) \nIf you’re dreaming about your next trip to Europe\, come and discover Lisbon\, a historical city full of stories to tell\, where the sun shines 290 days a year and the temperature rarely drops below 15oC. A city where you feel safe wandering around day or night\, where the cuisine is dedicated to creating over a thousand ways to cook the beloved bacalhau (salted cod)\, and where you’ll find hotels and restaurants to suit every taste\, budget and requirement. Discover Lisbon\, a city full of authenticity where old customs and ancient history intermix with cultural entertainment and hi-tech innovation. Lisbon is ageless\, but it loves company\, as you’ll find out if you meet someone and ask them to explain\, with lots of gestures and repetition\, where the best place is to listen to Fado. After all\, Lisbon is famous for its hospitality and the family-like way it welcomes visitors. \nElevador da Glória \nThe “lifts or elevators” in Lisbon are basically funiculars that help locals and tourist climb the steep and long slopes that are so characteristic in Lisbon. \nThe capital of Portugal has three funiculars\, all of which were designed by the Portuguese engineer Raoul Mesnier de Ponsard. He is also responsible for the design of the Santa Justa Lift. \nThe three lifts are called: Elevador do Lavra\, Elevador da Glória and Elevador da Bica. \nElevador da Glória \nThe best known and most popular of the three cable cars is the Elevador da Glória. It connects Restauradores Square with Rua San Pedro de Alcántara in Bairro Alto. \nAt the top part of the Funicular\, in Bairro Alto\, you’ll enjoy some magnificent views over Lisbon from San Pedro de Alcántara viewpoint. The best in the city in our opinion. The Elevador da Glória was opened to the public on 24 October 1885. \nwhat is a miradouro? \nEasy. It’s a lookout. A viewpoint. A designated spot on top of a hill that has an incredible view. And if you’re in Lisbon\, you definitely don’t want to miss them. Especially since they’re free. \nMiradouro de Santa Luzia \nThis romantic terrace by the church of Santa Luzia introduces visitors to Alfama with a sweeping view over its houses\, churches\, and the Tagus River. On an outside wall of the church are two tile panels\, one of Comercio Square before the earthquake\, and another showing Christians attacking St. George’s Castle in 1147. The cafe on the terrace is a good place for a drink before climbing to the castle nearby. \nBelem Tower \nTogether with the Jeronimos Monastery\, the Belem Tower is one of the most symbolic edifices of Lisbon. It too is an exquisite materialization of the superb Manuelin style (with discrete elements characteristic of sundry other architectural styles)\, and it too is part of the UNESCO World Heritage of the city (declared as such in 1983). The tower is located\, just as the name suggests\, in the Belem district\, and it is also known as the Tower or Castle of Saint Vincent (Castelo de Sao Vicente de Belem). \nThe history of the tower is substantially related to the age of the great geographical discoveries. It was built in the 16th century (between 1514 and 1520)\, by order of King Manuel I\, who decided to implement the plans of his predecessor\, King Joao II\, in order to reinforce the defense system on the shores of the Tagus River. The chief architect was Francisco de Arruda\, who inserted visible Moorish elements in the overall structural and decorative patrimony of the tower. \nSão Jorge Castle \nSão Jorge Castle (Castelo de São Jorge) is one of Lisbon’s most emblematic landmarks. The silhouette of the Castle stands out both by day and when illuminated at night\, located on the summit of São Jorge hill\, the highest in Lisbon. The hillside also houses two of the city’s neighbourhoods called Alfama and Castelo. \nA small fortress was built by the Visigoths during the fifth century. It was modified and enlarged by the Moors in the mid-eleventh century and during the reign of Afonso I of Portugal (1109 – 1185)\, it was altered and in later years transformed into a Royal Palace. Finally\, it was completely restored in 1938. \nThe Castle reached its maximum splendour during the thirteenth century and lasted until the sixteenth century when it was occupied by both the Kings of Portugal and the Bishop. \nPraça do Comércio \nPraça do Comércio\, Commerce Square in English\, is Lisbon’s main square. It was built on the site where the old Royal Palace used to exist before it was destroyed by the earthquake of 1755. \nThe southern end of the plaza is open and looks out onto the Tagus River. The other three sides have yellow-coloured buildings with arcades all along the façade. When the square was first built\, the commercial ships would unload their goods directly onto this square\, as it was considered the “door” to Lisbon. \nOn the river bank\, near the square\, is the Cais de Sodré ferry terminal from which several ferries depart down the Tagus River. \nThe Ponte 25 de Abril suspension bridge is one of Lisbon’s most notable landmarks as it spans the River Tagus at the narrowest point. This massive bridge closely resembles that of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco and the date name remembers the Portuguese Carnation Revolution of 25 April 1974. The suspension bridge connects Lisbon\, on the north bank\, with the commuter districts of Alameda on the south bank. The bridge is a distinctive landmark of Lisbon and crossing the Ponte 25 de Abril bridge makes for a fantastic entrance to Lisbon. \nSintra:  (Day 6 & 7) \nSintra is a picturesque Portuguese town that is set amidst the pine-covered hills of the Serra de Sintra. This hilly and slightly cooler climate enticed the nobility and elite of Portugal\, who constructed exquisite palaces\, extravagant mansions and decorative gardens. \nSintra is situated within the beautiful natural scenery of the Parque Natural de Sintra-Cascais. This national park incorporates the lush forests hills of Sintra and leads down to the rugged and dramatic coastline\, 12km to the west. The hills of Sintra are the setting for many activities of the region\, include scenic hiking trails\, challenging cycle routes and some of the best rock climbing in Portugal. \nThe variety of fascinating historic buildings and beautiful scenery has established Sintra as a fantastic tourist destination\, and has since become the most popular day trip from Lisbon. \nPena National Palace \nThis hilltop palace sits so high it can be seen from nearby Lisbon\, and is the top attraction in Sintra. With its domed golden tower and red brick chapel steeple\, the complex is extremely beautiful\, and considered to be one of the most impressive examples of 19th century Romanticism in Europe. One of the most striking things about this palace is the eclectic combination of architectural styles\, which includes neo-gothic\, neo-moorish\, neo-manueline and neo-renaissance. A wild and diverse forest with large century-old trees from around the world surrounds the large stone pinnacle where the palace sits. \nQuinta da Regaleira \nLocated near the historic center of Sintra\, Portugal lies the Quinta da Regaleira- a spectacular estate that sits in a World Heritage protected landscape. While thousands of tourists flock to the castle every year to admire the unique architecture of the Quinta de Regaleira that combines Gothic\, Egyptian\, Moorish and Renaissance features\, one of its most fascinating features is located beneath the ground – a pair of wells spiraling deep within the earth. The wells were never used\, nor intended for water collection. Instead\, these mysterious underground towers were used for secretive initiation rites. \nThe pair of wells\, known as the ‘Initiation Wells’ or ‘Inverted Towers’\, consist of ‘winding stair’ architecture\, which carries symbolic meaning including the death/rebirth allegory common to many hermetic traditions. \nOne of the wells contains nine platforms\, which are said to be “reminiscent of the Divine Comedy by Dante and the nine circles of Hell\, the nine sections of Purgatory and the nine skies which constitute Paradise.” A smaller well\, called the “Unfinished Well\,” contains a set of straight staircases\, connecting the ring-shaped floors to one another. It is believed that the spacing of the landings\, as well as the number of steps in between were dictated by Masonic principles. \nAt the bottom of the well there is a compass over a Knights Templar cross\, which is said to have been Monteiro’s herald and a sign of his Rosicrucianism. Very little is known about how the wells were used and what exactly went on there\, though it is clear to see that great effort went into their planning and construction. \nConvent of the Capuchos \nThis small convent and its residences were originally created in the sixteenth century to house 12 monks\, who lived in incredibly cramped conditions\, their tiny cells having low\, narrow doors. It was acquired by the state in the twentieth century and opened to the public. The site includes a farmhouse\, courtyard\, hall of retreat and hall of penitence\, among other buildings. It was designed to fit perfectly into the natural environment of large granite boulders along the edge of the Sintra Mountains. Hidden in the woods\, it is located outside of the city even today\, due to the fact that it was designed as a reclusive retreat for solitude and prayer for reclusive clergy. \nCastle of the Moors  \nWinding over two ridges of the Serra de (Mountain of) Sintra\, the Castle dates back to the early days of the Moorish occupation of the Peninsula\, the 8th century. \nAround 1100\, while Portugal was still under Moorish domination\, the castle changed hands several time as the Christian Kings during the Crusades \, nor the Arabs Emirs could keep the position a long time. \nIn 1108\, the Norwegian King Sigurd the Crusader conquered the Castle while on his way to Jerusalem. \nIt is only in 1147\, after various attempts that the Castle was definitely taken by the first King of Portugal\, Afonso I (1109-1185). \nLater on the castle lost its strategic importance as\, peace being restored\, there was no more need to protect the population inside its walls and was therefore abandoned. It was acquired\, as well as the Pena Palace\, in 1838 by Ferdinand Saxe Coburg-Gotha (1816-1885)\, King Consort of Queen Maria II . \nHe restored the medieval ruin and afforested the surrounding areas\, giving it a new dignity. \nThe latest restoration happened in 1940 for the ceremonies celebrating the foundation of Portugal. \nFly Back to India from Lisbon Airport \nDay 8 :  ( Day 8) \nFree day in Lisbon for Shopping\, exploration etc. \nDay 9:  \nFly back to India \nPackage: 77777 INR p.p \nIncludes \n9 Days/ 8 Nights stay in hostel/hotel \nBreakfast \nAirport transfers \nTrain tickets (Porto-Lagos-Lisbon) \nDoes Not Includes: \nAirfare \nVisa cost (we can help you with this) \nLunch/Dinner \nHow to contact us? \nCall on 9029099709 or email on info@travelbuddiestalk.com \nWho we are? \nTravel Buddies is a solo traveller’s community with the concept of travelling with strangers and coming back with friends. SUMMARY:Russia: Mystery Inside An Enigma
DESCRIPTION:Russia: Mystery Inside An Enigma\n\n\nThe largest country in the world\, Russia offers a broad array of travel experiences\, from treks up the slopes of glacier-capped mountains to strolls along the shoreline of Earth’s oldest lake. Historical sites and cultural activities in the country’s great cities abound as well. Whether you’re exploring the grounds of Moscow’s Kremlin or wandering through the steppes of Mongolia\, a visit to Russia is an adventure not soon forgotten.\n\n\n\n\nRussia Trip Itinerary: 10-Nov to 18-Nov\n\nDay1: Moscow\nDay2.   : Moscow (Tank driving activity is optional)\nDay3.  : Moscow\nDay4.  : Kazan\nDay5.  : Kazan\nDay6.  : St. Petersburg\nDay7.  : St. Petersburg\nDay8. : St. Petersburg\nDay9. : Moscow/St. Petersburg fly back\n\n\n\n\nDay 1-3 : Moscow\nArrive in Moscow\nArriving on a Thursday puts you in Moscow over a weekend\, when traffic is lighter\, hotels are cheaper\, and yet everything you’ll want to visit will be open. Given how vast distances are in Moscow\,\n\n Moscow\, on the Moskva River in western Russia\, is the nation’s cosmopolitan capital. In its historic core is the Kremlin\, a complex that’s home to the president and tsarist treasures in the Armoury. Outside its walls is Red Square\, Russia’s symbolic center. It’s home to Lenin’s Mausoleum\, the State Historical Museum’s comprehensive collection and St. Basil’s Cathedral\, known for its colorful\, onion-shaped domes.  vladivostok\,moscow city\,russia tour\,moscow weather\,moscow city\,make my trip\,tour packages russia\, russia travel package\, russia travel guide\, russia travel blog\, russia travel cost\, russia travel video\, russia travelogue\, russia travel visa\, russia travel places \n \n\n\nRed Square\n\nRed Square is a city square in Moscow\, Russia. It separates the Kremlin\, the former royal citadel and now the official residence of the President of Russia\, from a historic merchant quarter known as Kitai-gorod.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLenin Mausoleum\n\n\nLenin’s Mausoleum\, also known as Lenin’s Tomb\, situated in Red Square in the centre of Moscow\, is a mausoleum that currently serves as the resting place of Soviet leader Vladimir Lenin. His preserved body has been on public display there since shortly after his death in 1924\, with rare exceptions in wartime.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSt. Basil Cathedral\n\n \nSt. Basil’s Cathedral is Moscow’s most famous artistic work of architecture. Also called “Pokrovsky Cathedral” or “The Cathedral of Intercession of the Virgin by the Moat”\, it is the most recognizable Russian building. This Cathedral is to the Russians what the Eiffel Tower is to the French\, an honorable symbol of their past\, present\, and future.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDriving A Tank Activity (Optional)\n\n\nStop wasting your time in a stuffy office. Go for a tank driving and shooting tour! Fight your enemies with the most powerful Russian and Soviet weapons. You can select from a variety of the legendary military vehicles (T-62\, T-80\, BMP-1\, BRDM and BTR-80). Put on a military camouflage and shoot a tank gun or any of more than 10 available firearms. A selfie with a Kalashnikov AK-47? It’s a piece of cake! A traditional Russian military meal with buckwheat will taste delicious after the battle. No matter who you are – a fearless strong man or a graceful girl\, the power of these machines will astonish you. If you enjoyed playing toy soldiers in your childhood\, if you are a fearless Amazon in your heart – it’s time for a real adventure!\n\n\nTour description \n1. Pick-up\, transfer from the hotel to the military ground (in a 1.5-2 hr drive from the city center).\n2. All the visitors are offered to put on military-field uniform: a jacket\, trousers\, and a tank helmet.\n3. Safety briefing.\n4. Ride in a tank\, BMP-1\, BTR-80 or BRDM-2.\n5. Shooting a tank or BMP gun*.\n6. Shooting small-caliber guns* (Machine guns\, Automatic\, Rifles and Pistols).\n7. Shooting a large-caliber gun* (Grenade launcher).\n8. Transfer to the city. \n\n\n\n\nThe Kremlin Museum\n\nThe Moscow Kremlin State Historical and Cultural Museum and Heritage Site was formed in 1991 on the basis of State Museums of the Moscow Kremlin. It is located in the center of Moscow\, on the territory of the Moscow Kremlin. The Moscow Kremlin is one of the largest architectural ensembles of the world\, including monuments built over the time from late XV to XX centuries. Historically the Moscow Kremlin has been the residence of power and in our days it is the residence of the Russian President. It is a unique museum complex including cathedrals-museums: the Assumption Cathedral\, the Archangel Cathedral\, the Annunciation Cathedral\, the Church of the Deposition of the Robe of the Holy Virgin\, the Palace of Patriarch of the XVII century with the Church of the Twelve Apostles\, the bell tower of Ivan the Great with the belfry and the State Armory Chamber – the treasury. A special exposition located in the basement of the Annunciation Cathedral displays the materials on the archaeology of the Kremlin.\n\nChurch Of Ascenion\n\nThe earliest extant structure in town is the exceptional Ascension church (1532)\, built in white stone to commemorate the long-awaited birth of an heir to the throne\, the future Ivan the Terrible. Being the first stone church of tent-like variety\, the uncanonical “White Column” (as it is sometimes referred to) marked a stunning rupture with the Byzantine tradition.\n\n\n\n\n\nMuseum of Soviet Arcade Machines\n\nThis is probably the geekiest museum you can find in Moscow\, and if you have very little knowledge of Soviet arcade games (which let’s face it why would you know) you will feel like the nerdiest guy on the block when you pay up for your Soviet era coins to drop into these aging machines. If you remember wasting some time playing on odd computers or shooting galleries as a child you will get an eye-opener when you see how Soviet kids were doing similar things on albeit very different machines. Classics include Morskoi Boi (a very simple battleships press the button and sink the boat game)\, car racing\, logic games\, Soviet table football and an ingenious air-basketball game amongst others. Everything looks and feels a bit broken down\, but is full of charm and offers a refreshing view of life during the end of communism.\n\nChrist the Savior Cathedral\n\nThis is what a new Russian Orthodox church ought to look like. It is so immense you’ll be wondering how many blocks of dynamite the Soviets needed to get rid of the thing the first time around. That was in 1931. This newly restored example came into being from 1994 until 2000 and is a shiny beacon for the Russian Orthodox Church at home and a close replica of the original 19th Century cathedral built in honour of the victory over Napoleon. The sprawling cathedral houses a museum on the history of the site where you can see pictures of the giant swimming pool the Soviets built here and the huge Lenin topped skyscraper they had originally planned for. During excursions (minimum 10 people) you can see the cathedral\, museum and the view from the colonnade. As it is a working place of worship women are expected to cover their heads and everyone should dress conservatively.\n\n\nBunker-42\nOne of the most famous museum among tourists in Moscow. It is the huge military and historical museum and the cultural entertainment complex created on one secret object of the USSR. Also there all this is located at a depth of 65 meters\, representing\, really\, something improbable. The atmosphere of the real bunker allows to experience that thin side which separated the world from the beginning of nuclear war. There are also equipped conference halls\, a restaurant\, Cold War Museum and a cinema hall.\n\n\n\n\n\nFamous Street of Moscow\nOld Arbat Street\n\nOriginally a suburb where traders from the East would arrive with their caravans\, in the 18th Century the Arbat became popular with Moscow’s intelligentsia and artistic community\, who enjoyed frequenting the many cafes and taking strolls along the area’s mansion-lined boulevards. Pushkin himself lived here with his wife in house number 53 (the building has since been turned into a museum dedicated to the poet) and Tolstoy resided on the adjoining Kaloshin Lane. In fact Count Fyodor was said to have modelled his famous character Anna Karenina on Maria Gartung – Pushkin’s oldest daughter\, who also lived nearby.\n\n\nNew Arbat Street\nNew Arbat was initially included in the Moscow construction development plan in 1935. The idea was to build a road connecting Kremlin and the famous Rublevka area where most of the communist party elite had their country side residencies. They simply needed a modern highway that they could use to travel between Kremlin and their dachas. The original name of the street was Kalinin Prospekt\, named after one of the revolution leaders Mikhail Kalinin. The name was changed to Noviy Arbat during the post-soviet period in 1994.\n\n\n\nTverskaya Street\n\nTverskaya is the main street of Moscow\, it starts from the Kremlin and goes north through all Moscow to change into Leningradskoe shosse\, which leads to Tver and after 700 km to St. Petersburg. Tverskaya street is a wide central avenue bustling with life\, with large buildings on the sides where there are various shops\, clubs\, cafes\, and restaurants inside. However\, the life around Tverskaya (small streets\, boulevards around) is quite calm\, and it’s one of the nicest areas to walk around or to go out in Moscow.  vladivostok\,moscow city\,russia tour\,moscow weather\,moscow city\,make my trip\,tour packages russia\, russia travel package\, russia travel guide\, russia travel blog\, russia travel cost\, russia travel video\, russia travelogue\, russia travel visa\, russia travel places\n\n\n\n\nWhat To Eat :\nBorscht\n \nBorscht is the most well-known Russian dish in the world. Thanks to its bright red color\, this soup has become one of symbols of Russia on a level with Matryoshka dolls and AK-47 assault rifle. There are many recipes of borscht\, and every region of Russia and Ukraine is proud of its own list of ingredients and preparation technology. During your travel to Moscow\, you will find two most popular types of this soup – Ukrainian (“Ukrainsky”) and Moscow (“Moskovsky”). Other sorts of borscht are not widespread in Moscow restaurants and supermarkets\, and you will have almost no chances to find them.\n\n\nRussian Salad\n \nOlivier salad\, also known as Russian Salad\, was originally invented by Lucien Olivier for the Hermitage restaurant in Moscow in the 1860’s; it was then adapted by Ivan Ivanov\, who later sold the recipe for publication. Over the years\, it gained in popularity not only in Russia\, but throughout the rest of the Soviet Union and Europe.\n\n\n\nShashlik\n\nShashlik in its most basic form is pieces of meat grilled on a skewer over coals. The “classic” shashlik\, Granny says\, should be made with mutton. That’s how it’s often made in the Caucasus\, where the dish originated\, and where there’s lots of sheep. In Moscow\, however\, there is less mutton\, and Russians became more creative with their shashlik. Here it’s made with chicken\, pork and fish\, the meat interspersed with pieces of onion\, peppers or tomatoes. Everyone developed his own marinade (ketchup and garlic usually factor heavily). From the beginning\, shashliking was a competitive sport.\n\n\nRussian pancake (Blini)\nThese thin\, crepe-like pancakes have been consumed in Russia for centuries. Today they are the most popular type of Russian street food\, and the most popular place to buy them is the “Teremok” chain. The staff at these cafes  dress in old-style Russian costumes and address their customers as “sudar” and “sudarynya” – the old Russian form of “sir” and “madam.”  Solid round blini are cooked on a griddle while you wait and can be had with fillings ranging from ham\, cheese or red caviar to honey\, jam or sweetened condensed milk. Teremok is even expanding its empire abroad – you can find an outlet in Midtown Manhattan!\n\n\n\nWhere To Party\n\nEntry is mostly free or minimal (less than 200 RUB) and drinks aren’t expensive when compared to any metro city in India. The sex ratio is almost 1:10 thats right for every guy there are 10 girls! Da Da Ding! Not to mention the party goes on till 6:00 AM! \nDon’t even try getting sloshed as the bouncers are very strict and will not hesitate before picking you up and throwing you out\, LITERALLY! \nSome of the best clubs include City Space Bar\, O2 Lounge\, Bar Gipsy\, Kot Shredingera\, Night Club Icon. \n\nDay 4 & 5\n\n\nMOSCOW TO KAZAN:\nTake an overnight train from Moscow to Kazan. The train journey is very comfortable and the service is beyond amazing. They also have an affordable dining car if you’re hungry. We will help with bookings or you can book a flight directly. \n\n\nKAZAN\n \n\nKazan is a city in southwest Russia\, on the banks of the Volga and Kazanka rivers. The capital of the Republic of Tatarstan\, a semi-autonomous region\, it’s known for the centuries-old Kazan Kremlin\, a fortified citadel containing museums and sacred sites. Kremlin landmarks include the tiered Tower of Soyembika\, the blue-and-gold domed Annunciation Cathedral and the vast\, colorful Kul Sharif Mosque.Kazan (meaning a cooking pot in Tatar) is the Istanbul of the Volga\, a place where Europe and Asia curiously inspect each other from the tops of church belfries and minarets. Also known as Tatarstan\, the cuisine and culture varies here and the people are very friendly \nWe will explore : \n\n\nKazan Kremlin\nSuyumbike Tower\nKul-Sharif Mosque\nAnnunciation Cathedral\nState Hermitage Museum in Kazan\nState Museum of the Tatar State and the Republic of Tatarstan\nBauman Street\n\n\nWHERE TO EAT/PARTY IN KAZAN:\n\nThere are many eateries along Bauman street to cater to all\, Keep in mind that they shut down by 11PM. If you want to party head to Coyote Ugly on Bauman street itself\, the party lasts till morning\, Do keep the face control rules in mind!\n  \nDay 6\,7\,8\nKAZAN TO ST. PETERSBURG:\nSt. Petersburg is a Russian port city on the Baltic Sea. It was the imperial capital for 2 centuries\, having been founded in 1703 by Peter the Great\, subject of the city’s iconic “Bronze Horseman” statue. It remains Russia’s cultural center\, with venues such as the Mariinsky Theatre hosting opera and ballet\, and the State Russian Museum showcasing Russian art\, from Orthodox icon paintings to Kandinsky works. \n\n PS:direct flight at 3:00 AM from Rossiya Airlines / Aeroflot.\n\n\n\nThe Hermitage Museum\n\nThe State Hermitage Museum is a museum of art and culture in Saint Petersburg\, Russia. The second-largest art museum in the world\, it was founded in 1764 when Empress Catherine the Great acquired an impressive collection of paintings from the Berlin merchant Johann Ernst Gotzkowsky.\n\n\n\nRussian Museum\n\nRivaling the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow as the world’s finest collection of Russian art\, the State Russian Museum has an illustrious history that began when the fiercely nationalist Tsar Alexander III became the first Russian ruler to make a significant collection of art by Russian artists. His son\, Nicholas II\, decided to open a museum in his father’s honour and\, in 1895\, bought the Mikhailovskiy Palace to house the collection. Originally called the Alexandrovskiy Museum\, it was opened to the public in 1898.\n\n\nPeter and Paul Fortress\n\nThe first structure to be built in St. Petersburg\, and thus the birthplace of the city\, it never served its intended defensive function. Instead it has had a rich\, hugely varied\, and sometimes sinister history as a military base\, a home of government departments\, the burial ground of the Russian Imperial family\, the site of groundbreaking scientific experiments\, and a forbidding jail that held some of Russia’s most prominent political prisoners.\n\n\n\nThe bridges on the Neva\nNevsky is crossed by three canals which are an integral part of St. Petersburg’s beauty. There are a great number of rivers and canals in the city – it is a city “on water”. That is why it is often referred to as “the Northern Venice” or “the Northern Amsterdam”. There is no pleasure like taking a wonderful boat trip along rivers and canals of our “bridge city”.\n\n\n\n\nMuseum of Artillery\, Combat Engineers\, and Signal Troops\n\n\nThe official date of its foundation is August 29\, 1703\, when by Peter the Great’s decree a special Zeughaus (Ger. — Military storehouse for armaments\, uniforms\, equipment\, etc.) was built on the territory of the St. Petersburg (Peter-and-Paul) fortress for the purpose of storing and preserving old guns and cannons. The Military-Historical Museum of Engineer and Signal Corps is now one of the most significant military-historical museums in the world having precious collections of artillery armaments and ammunition\, rifles and cold steels\, military-engineering equipment\, signal means\, combat banners\, military uniforms\, battle artworks\, various insignia\, as well as archival documents giving evidences of Russian artillery development history and feats of arms. The Museum holds impressive collections of paintings\, drawings and sculptures. Amongst exhibits are works of art reflecting Russia’s heroic past\, portraits of Emperors\, Grand Dukes\, famed commanders\, plus soldiers and officers who distinguished themselves in military operations.\n\nAlexander Nevskiy Monastery\n\n\nThe monastery was founded in July 1710 – seven years after the foundation of Petersburg – by Peter the Great near to the spot where contemporary Swedish maps showed the Swedish fort Landskrona had stood. (This was during the Northern War between Russian and Sweden\, so it was a symbolically important location – especially as it had been sacked in 1301 by an army from Novgorod under Prince Andrei\, son of legendary Russian leader Alexander Nevsky\, during a previous war!) In 1712\, the first church was built\, in wood\, on the site of the future monastery\, and consecrated in Peter’s presence on March 25\, 1713. The monastery began working shortly afterward.\n\n\nChurch of the Saviour on Spilled Blood\n\nThe area that has been known as the Alexander Nevsky Monastery since 1797 had its beginnings in 1710\, just a few short years after the city of St. Petersburg was founded. It was located at the former site of the Swedish Fort Landskrova\, a significant location during the Northern War between Russia and Sweden. Peter the Great chose to name the monastery after Grand Duke Alexander Nevsky\, who defeated the Swedes in a 1240 battle at the site.\nThe first church\, a small wooden structure\, was built in 1712\, but a new church\, designed by Italian architect Domenico Trezzini\, was added in 1724. It was this building\, in particular\, that was named for Nevsky\, who was considered a saint in the Russian Orthodox Church. His remains were moved here from a church in Vladimir and for many decades\, the day they arrived was celebrated as a holiday.\n\n\nOur-Lady-of-Kazan Cathedral\n\nWhilst taking a stroll along Nevsky Prospekt  you cannot fail to notice the impressive Cathedral of Our Lady of Kazan. Kazan Cathedral\, constructed between 1801 and 1811 by the architect Andrei Voronikhin\, was built to an enormous scale and boasts an impressive stone colonnade\, encircling a small garden and central fountain. The cathedral was inspired by the Basilica of St. Peter’s in Rome and was intended to be the country’s main Orthodox Church. After the war of 1812 (during which Napoleon was defeated) the church became a monument to Russian victory. Captured enemy banners were put in the cathedral and the famous Russian Field Marshal Mikhail Kutuzov\, who won the most important campaign of 1812\, was buried inside the church. \n\nSaint Isaac’s Cathedral\n\nThe church itself is an architectural marvel. Built by the French-born architect Auguste Montferrand to be the main church of the Russian Empire\, the cathedral was under construction for 40 years (1818-1858)\, and was decorated in the most elaborate way possible. When you enter the cathedral you pass through one of the porticos – note that the columns are made of single pieces of red granite and weight 80 tons (about 177\,770 pounds) each. Inside the church many of the icons were created using moaic techniques and the iconostasis (the icon wall that separates the altar from the rest of the church) is decorated with 8 malachite and 2 lapis lazuli columns. The cathedral\, which can accommodate 14\,000 worshipers\, now serves as a museum and services are held only on significant ecclesiastical holidays. \n\nPeter the Great’s Cabin\n\nThe first residential building to be built in the newly founded city of St. Petersburg was a wooden house or cabin\, intended for Tsar Peter himself. The cabin is very small – only 60 sq. meters in area and is a strange combination of a traditional Russian house – izba – and a Dutch home with large and elaborate windows and high roof\, covered with wooden tiles. Tsar Peter lived in this house between 1703 and 1708 and the living room\, bedroom and study\, still filled with Peter’s original belongings\, still bear the mark of his presence. Peter the Great wanted all the houses of his new city to be built of stone\, the way it was done in Europe. But he could not afford a stone house at the time\, so he ordered the walls to be painted as if the house was made of bricks. \n\n\nNarva Triumphal Arch\n\nThe Narva Triumphal Arch was erected in the vast Narva Square\, Saint Petersburg\, in 1814 to commemorate the Russian victory over Napoleon. The wooden structure was constructed on the Narva highway with the purpose of greeting the soldiers who were returning from abroad after their victory over Napoleon.\n\n\n\n\n\nLoft Project ETAGI \n\nA pioneer in loft design and one of the largest exhibition spaces in St. Petersburg\, Etagi has been occupying the former Smolninsky Bread Factory since 2007. This fantastic conversion just ten minutes’ walk from Moskovsky Railway Station has plenty to keep visitors interested\, including many of the original factory fittings seamlessly merged with the thoroughly contemporary design. Many of the interior elements of the old factory were preserved\, such as the concrete pillars\, a drilling machine and bread baking equipment.Apart from being an exhibition center for the arts\, it is also a cultural center that holds the widest range of events\, from film festivals to kid’s workshops and from rooftop parties to pet adoption fairs. It’s also home to the city’s first ever “container city”- rows of containers that are now used for street food cafés\, shops and more. \n\nOpera and Ballet\n\nThe Hermitage Theater\, which used to be imperial theatre during more than a century\, is now proud to welcome guests all over the world.During all these years we are working to conserve rich traditions of the world famous classic Russian ballet. Ballet\, without any doubt\, is not just beautiful show\, it is a form of art\, which can be understood by everybody\, no matter where from you are and which language do you speak. It is not surprising that we are housed in one of the buildings of the Hermitage – one of the most famous art museums in the whole world. \n\nCanal tours\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\nYou will have an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with the city and its history\, to see St. Petersburg from an unusual perspective – from the water\, and to feel the beauty and grandeur of palaces\, granite embankments and bridges. Throughout the trip on the boat\, you will see the most beautiful sights of the city: the Peter and Paul Fortress\, Strelka of Vasilyevsky Island\, Winter Palace\, Marble Palace\, Summer Garden\, Mikhailovsky Castle\, Saint Isaac’s Cathedral\, Kunstkamera and many other attractions. \n\n\nWHERE TO PARTY:\nSt. Petersburg has umpteen number of places to party but the must-visit places are: \n\nCoyote Ugly\nUnderground: An amazing ex USSR bomb shelter\nMorrison: Open till 6:00 AM\, rooftop and cocktails under 100 RUB\nChroniki: One of the best in STP\n\n\n  \n  \n\n\n\n\nLAST DAY In St. Petersburg/ Moscow\nIf your return flight was from Moscow then take the Sapsan (bullet train) that covers 850 KM in under 4 hours and the service is world-class. \nYou can spend your last day relaxing and of course souvenir shopping\, head to Izmailovsky Market for the best Russian souvenirs ranging from dolls to key chains and even antiques at the best prices. SUMMARY:Australia Tour :Autumn
DESCRIPTION:A U S T R A L I A\n  \nAustralia\, not a country but a continent itself: Australia is the 6th largest country in the world\, occupying a territory of 7 692 024 sq. km\, which is more than the size of ALL European Union countries. Yet it has one of the lowest population densities in the world of only 3.1 people/km. Australia is on a lot of people’s shortlist of places to go but it is huge and can be hard to know where to begin. \nYou aren’t going to see everything in a single trip to Australia\, but you can see a lot of the highlights. \nThis 1500+ km road journey from Sydney to Melbourne (including Great Ocean Road) will blow your mind with its pristine beaches and unique coastline. \n  \nItinerary brief: (01-June-12-June) \nDay 1: Sydney \nDay 2: Hyams Beach \nDay 3 & 4: Mount Kosciuszko & Lakes \nDay 5:Mount Oberon \nDay 6:Phillip Island \nDay 7:Great Ocean Road \nDay 8:Great Ocean Road \nDay 9:Great Ocean Road \nDay 10:Melbourne \nDay 11:Melbourne \n  \nDay 1: Sydney\n \n  \nSydney is the first stop on many Australian itineraries\, and for good reason. It’s an inviting blend of the exhilarating and easygoing. You can find excitement in the city\, but drive just a few kilometres and you’ll hit the golden sand of famous beaches like Bondi and Manly. Plus\, with endless nature at its doorstep\, Sydney is the starting point for day trips serving up the fresh air\, unique flavours and locals who know a thing or two about living life to the fullest. \n  \nSydney Tower\n\nThe construction of Sydney Tower is an interesting tale of engineering and quality construction. Pre-made individual barrel units formed the shaft of the tower and the four levels of the turret structure were constructed at the base of the shaft and raised to the top as work progressed. \nThe shaft supporting the turret is made up of 46 barrels units\, each weighing 27 tonnes. These were brought on to the site in seven pieces and welded together. Once the first three sections were in place\, a gantry crane was erected to hoist the remaining 43 barrel units. Each barrel unit was completed with lift rails\, stairwells and hydraulic risers before hoisting. The shaft contains two sets of fire stairs\, fire\, electrical and plumbing ducts in one half and the lift shafts in the remainder. This is one of the most important monuments in Sydney. \n\n\nSydney Harbour\nPort Jackson\, also called Sydney Harbour\, inlet of the Pacific\, 12 miles (19 km) long with a total area of 21 square miles (55 square km)\, which is one of the world’s finest natural harbours and the principal port of New South Wales\, Australia.\n\n\n\n\nOpera House\n\nThe Sydney Opera House in Sydney\, New South Wales\, Australia\, is one of the most distinctive and famous 20th-century buildings\, and one of the most famous performing arts venues in the world. … The Opera House provides 45\,000 square metres (11 acres) of usable office space out of 18\,000 square metres (4.5 acres) of land.\n\n\n\nBondi Beach\n\nThe sweeping white-sand crescent of Bondi is one of Australia’s most iconic beaches. Reliable waves draw surfers while\, nearby\, hardy locals swim in the Icebergs ocean pool year-round. Trendy\, health-conscious Sydneysiders head to laid-back cafes around Hall Street\, while hip backpackers frequent the area’s casual pubs. Walkers and joggers use the clifftop Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk\, with its dramatic scenery.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDay 2: Hyams Beach\nHyams Beach is a seaside village in the City of Shoalhaven\, New South Wales\, Australia\, on the shores of Jervis Bay. At the 2016 census\, it had a population of 112. \n\n\nWe will drive from Sydney to Hyams beach area and will stay nearby area.\n\n\nDay 3 & 4: Mount Kosciuszko\n\n\nMount Kosciuszko is mainland Australia’s highest mountain\, at 2\,228 metres above sea level. It is located on the Main Range of the Snowy Mountains in Kosciuszko National Park\, part of the Australian continent.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDay 5: Mount Oberon\n\n\nWilsons Promontory is solid 3-hour drive south-east of Melbourne\, taking either the M1 or the South Gippsland Hwy (M420) out of Melbourne. If taking the M1\, take Koo Wee Rup Road south from Pakenham\, which will eventually join up with the South Gippsland Hwy. The South Gippsland Hwy then veers left soon after the Lang Lang turn off\, and from there it’s straight through to Meeniyan. Here you turn off towards Fish Creek and follow the signage to Wilsons Prom.\n\n\n\n\nDay 6: Phillip Island\n\n\nPhillip Island\, a popular day trip from Melbourne\, lies just off Australia’s southern coast. At Summerland Beach\, spectators gather daily at sunset to watch the Penguin Parade\, when Little penguins come ashore in groups. The Nobbies outcrop is the viewing site for Seal Rocks\, home to a large colony of Australian fur seals. The Phillip Island Circuit is a well-known track for motorcycle and car racing. \n\nOne of the area’s most popular events\, the Penguin Parade allows visitors to catch a glimpse of the island’s native little penguins as they come back ashore after a day of fishing. Head to Summerland Beach for 180-degree viewing of the parade on their tiered seating.\n\n\nDay 7\,8 & 9: Great Ocean Road\n\n \nVictoria’s dramatic south-west coastline covers an incredible range of scenery. See the world-famous waves at Bells Beach or laze on the sand at Anglesea. Visit the charming old fishing village of Port Fairy and get among the buzzing arts community in Lorne. Of course\, you can’t miss the 12 Apostles. These craggy limestone stacks rising majestically from the Southern Ocean are a must-see. Join a scenic flight with 12 Apostles Helicopters to see the Bay of Islands\, London Bridge or the entire Shipwreck Coast all the way to Australia’s oldest lighthouse at Cape Otway. \nWe will be exploring each and every beach on this wonderful road for 3 days. \n\nDay 10 & 11: Melbourne\n\nMelbourne is the coastal capital of the southeastern Australian state of Victoria. At the city’s centre is the modern Federation Square development\, with plazas\, bars\, and restaurants by the Yarra River. In the Southbank area\, the Melbourne Arts Precinct is the site of Arts Centre Melbourne – a performing arts complex – and the National Gallery of Victoria\, with Australian and indigenous art. \nWe will end our road trip to Melbourne and explore this beautiful city and have some leisure time for ourselves. \n\nDay 12: Fly back home with happy memories\nFor cost and other details\, email us on info@travelbuddiestalk.com\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nWant to Know The Cost of this Trip?\n\n\nGet Cost + Includes In Next 5 Minutes Directly In to Your Inbox?! \nEnter Your Email Id \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nSend Me Cost\n\n \n\nPowered By ConvertKit\n\n\nQ. SUMMARY:Auli: A Trip To Narnialand
DESCRIPTION:A U L I\n \nAuli is one of the most picturesque places. With seeing the mighty ranges to skiing in the fresh snow\, Auli has it all. It does not just end here\, Auli lies in the upper ranges of Himalayas and even though it is a famous tourist spot\, the place does not look crowded. \nLying at the height of 2\,800 meters\, Auli offers the most captivating views of mighty Himalayas. It is located in Uttarakhand\, which in itself offers an abundance of natural beauty. It lies in the Garwali district and lies in the upper ranges of the Himalayas. \n  \nBest Time to visit Auli: \nAuli can be visited anytime during the year. However\, since Auli is the skiing destination and is famous for its snow-peaked mountains\, it is better to visit this beauty during the winter season. Reaching here during the winters might get difficult though due to road blockages\, so before leaving for this place do ask for the road conditions.\n \nWinters: During the months of November to February\, one can expect snowfall and the temperature goes down in negative 8 degrees. This is the best time when one can experience skiing activities. Many tourists come here during this time due to experience skiing.\n\nAuli offers really amazing views with high peaks of the Himalayas. One can see Nanda Devi from here. The mighty Nanda Devi is at a height of 7800 meters. From far you can see the snow-clad mountains and it is so relaxing to have a cup of tea while watching these mountains. The colours\, in fact\, become even more enchanting during the sunset time when the entire sky lit up in a shade of pink colour. This is the time when you will actually get the “peace of mind”.\n\n\nExperience Skiing in Auli\n\nAuli\, 16 km from Joshimath is an ideal winter resort run by Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam (GMVN). A 3 km long slope ranging from a height of 2519 to 3049 m is a major attraction. The Auli resort run by GMVN has snow beaters which beat the snow to keep the slopes fit for skiing at all times. A 500 m long ski-lift carries skiers back to the slope top\, thus saving them the trouble and time to bridge up wearing long skis.\n\nCable Car and Ropeway\n\nOne of the major attractions in Auli is to enjoy a cable car ride. Locally known as a Gondola\, the cable car ride in Auli is the second highest and the longest cable car ride in Asia after Gulmarg. Covering a total distance of 4 km\, the journey starts at Joshimath and ends at Auli\, and takes a total time of around 24 min. Perched at a staggering height of 3010 m above sea level\, the entire trip is a visual and sensual delight. You can enjoy the majestic Himalayan peaks in the surroundings and the lush green valley below. The scintillating views and the gorgeous panoramic vistas are a sight to behold. \nThe ropeway works with two cable cars through 10 towers and can accommodate up to 25 passengers. Although\, the passengers have to keep standing as there are no seats. Moving at a speed of 3 m per sec\, you can enjoy views of the oak forests below in addition to snow-capped peaks and verdant meadows. In case you are lucky and are travelling at the right time\, you can also be a witness to a skiing competition going on below. \n\n\n\n  \nHanuman Temple: \nHanuman Temple: According to myths and legends it is believed that Lord Hanuman rested at this place for a while when he was travelling in search of ‘sanjeevani’ herb for Laxman\, brother of Lord Rama.\nArtificial Lake \nAt a separation of 1 km from Auli GMVN\, Auli Artificial Lake is one of the world’s most noteworthy synthetic lakes\, arranged adjacent to the Cliff Top Club. This lake was produced by the administration in perspective of making fake snow on the new ski slants at the season of low snowfall. Water from the lake is utilized to sustain the snow firearms positioned along the ski slants. It helps with giving great skiing surface to help expand the ski season. \n\n\nDates: 03-Jan – 6-Jan \nDay 1: Start from Delhi in private vehicle and stay in Auli overnight \nDay 2: Explore Auli \nDay 3: Skiing \nDay 4: Travel back to Delhi and take flight (take flight train after 10:30 pm) \n\nConnect with us on 9029099709 \n \n\n\n\n\nWant to Know The Cost of this Trip?\n\n\nGet Cost + Includes In Next 5 Minutes Directly In to Your Inbox?! \nEnter Your Email Id \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nSend Me Cost\n\n \n\nPowered By ConvertKit\n\n\nIf you have already subscribed then kindly Email us info@travelbuddiestalk.com \nGaurav Rana is the founder of TBT and an avid traveller. After having our breakfast early in the morning we’ll start our journey to the My Son Sanctuary\, which is about an hour ride from the city. My Son sanctuary consists of a bunch of abandoned and partially ruined Hindu temples mainly dedicated to Lord Siva. The temples were believed to be constructed between 4th to 14th century AD by the Champas\, who were independent Hindu kings in the south and central Vietnam with roots from central Java. Later today we’ll explore the ancient city of Hoi An. Some other places to visit are Japanese Covered Bridge\, Kim Bong Carpentry Village\, Thanh Ha Pottery Village and Vinahouse Craft Village etc. \nDAY 08: DA NANG TO HO CHI MINH CITY \nThe last destination of our trip\, Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) is Vietnam’s most dizzying: a high-octane city of commerce and culture that has driven the country forward with its pulsating energy. A chaotic whirl\, the city breathes life and vitality into all who settle here\, and visitors cannot help but be hauled along for the ride. Wander through timeless alleys to incense-infused temples before negotiating chic designer malls beneath sleek 21st-century skyscrapers. The ghosts of the past live on in buildings that one generation ago witnessed a city in turmoil which now is a city of energy and discovery. We’ll go on a city tour and witness some historical and as well as modern sights and landmarks that has this city to offer. Some of the major sights include Cu Chi Tunnels\, Central Post Office and The World of Heineken etc. \nDAY 09: HEAD BACK HOME \nWe can explore some more of the city before finally transferring to the Airport. It’s time for us to head back home with the great experience and stories from these destinations. We’ll be dropped off to the airport to catch our flights. \n—-\n \n\n\n\n\nWant to Know The Cost of this Trip?\n\n\nGet Cost + Includes In Next 5 Minutes Directly In to Your Inbox?! \nEnter Your Email Id \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nSend Me Cost\n\n  \n\nPowered By ConvertKit\n\n\n—- \n\nPAYMENT TERMS \nYou can secure a spot with an advance payment of Rs. 10\,000/-. This German festival is a worldwide famous event that celebrates the Bavarian culture. Held annually in Bavaria\, Munich\, and Germany\, this worldwide phenomenon is a 16 to an 18-day folk festival. It witnesses more than a million people from all over the world. \n  \nDid you know? \nLocals call this festival Wiesn\, This major festival plays a pivotal part of Bavarian culture. It has been held since 1810. \n  \nWhen is Oktoberfest held? \nOktoberfest has been held since the year 1810. Oktoberfest is a 16-day event that leads to the first Sunday of October. However\, this event was modified in response to German reunification. Keeping the same in mind\, if the first Sunday in October is on 1st or 2nd\, then the event will run until 6th October which is also German Unity Day. This is why this major festival now runs for 17 days if the first Sunday is 2nd October and for 18 days if it is 1st October. This year\, the event starts on 21st September and ends on 6th October. \n  \nHow Is It Celebrated? \nWhen you talk about Oktoberfest\, you think about Beer. Well\, the tradition of this major festival goes beyond that. While the beer tents here do offer drinks\, these also play the traditional Bavarian music. You will find locals and tourists dressed in traditional Bavarian clothing\, lederhosen\, and dirndls. \n  \nWhy is it celebrated? \nIt has a historical background. Oktoberfest was first held in the year 1810. It was done to honor the marriage of the Bavarian Crown Prince Ludwig to Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen. There are swing carousel\, rides\, and the classic toboggan that keeps your kids entertained. \nThe Wellenflug – It is the famous swing carousel on the Wiesn. Also known as Wave Flight\, this ride is the favourite among the people.\nFeldl’s Teufelsrad – It is fun and has a Bavarian style. Both adults and children can ride on this. It is basically a disc that spins faster. The one to stay down for longest is declared the winner.\nThe Ferris wheel – The famous Willenborg Ferris Wheel has been here since 1979. It is considered to be the symbol of this famous event – Oktoberfest.\nThe Toboggan – Drink a few beers and head to this ride. Nothing can beat the fun you get with this tower slide.\nSkyFall – If you love adventures and is not afraid of heights\, then SkyFall is the right place for you.\nOlympia Looping (Five Loops) – A rollercoaster ride is a must. It has five loops and is 1250 meter long. \n  \n  \nOctoberfest Costume \n\nNothing can be better than experiencing a festival wearing traditional outfits or costumes. When talking about the same\, here are some traditional costumes you should consider: \nDirndl – If you are in your stylish dirndl\, be careful of which side of the apron the bow has to be tied.\nBow to the right – It says you are married\, engaged\, or in love.\nBow to the left – It says the woman is single\nBow-tied in the middle – It says the woman is a virgin\nBow to the rear – It says the woman is widow\, server or is a child \nLoferls – They are calf warmers and play a major role in Oktoberfest costume. They are worn on the lower leg only.\nHairstyles – Braided hairstyles\, ponytail\, plaits\, twists\, and so on.\nLederhosen – They are traditional pants and no Oktoberfest is complete without them. \n  \nFun Facts about Oktoberfest\n• Though it’s called Oktoberfest\, the festival starts in September.\n• Oktoberfest has been cancelled 24 times!\n• It is an old tradition and has got nothing to do with the beer festival.\n• Nobody can raise the beer mug until the Mayor says so.\n• The beer offered in the festival is specifically brewed for Oktoberfest and is extra strong. \n  \n  \n  \nMunich\nDay 04-Oct \nOktoberfest \nDay 05-Oct\nOktoberfest \n  \nHungary\n \nBudapest \nDay 6-7-8  \n\nSzechenyi Thermal Bath\nChain Bridge\nAndrassy Avenue\nMatthias Church\nSt. Stephen’s Basilica\nHouse of Terror\nFisherman’s Bastion\nBuda Castle\n\nBosnia and Hazergovania \nBosnia \n \nDay 8-9-10 \n\nSarajevo\nFree walking tours\nSarajevo’s Abandoned bossled track\nSrebrenic Genocide Museum\nSunset point Yellow Bastion\nDiscoverMOdern Art in Former Nuclear bunker\nRiver UNA Rafting\n\n \n \nMostar\n\nBata’s Crazy tour\nKravice Waterfall\nExplore the mediaeval town of Pocotelj\nBlagaj Dervish House Monastery\nWalk across the old bridge (start most)\nMedugorje\nProvalije Waterfall\n\nItaly\nAmalfi Coast\nDay 11-12-13 \n  \n\nSorrento between history\, art and culture. …\nMassa Lubrense between legends and natural beauties\nVico Equense. …\nShopping and relaxation in Positano on the Amalfi Coast. …\nWalkthrough the streets of Amalfi. …\nDiscovering the taste in the villages of Maiori and Minori. …\nCetara and its famous anchovies speciality\n\n  \nFrance\nDay 14-15-16 \nEiffel Tower \nLouvre Museum \nTake a train to Mont Saint Michel \nStay in Mont Saint Michel \nBack to Paris \nMont Saint Michel(France)\n \nThe Mont-Saint-Michel is one of Europe’s most unforgettable sights. Set in the mesmerising bay where Normandy and Brittany merge\, the island draws the eye from great distances. \nThe staggering location has long inspired awe and imagination.
