In the evening\, at the same place\, you are experiencing the fairytale-like snowfall. \nYou are crossing the river on a metal basket hung on a one-inch thick wire pulley and experiencing snow fishing. Such experiences directly go down to the golden moments of our memory lane and that’s why such trips are called once in a lifetime type of trips. \nWe are going to Gusaini\, which is another side of Tirthan valley. Our first trip is for Shoja & Laida and on this trip\, we will be covering Gusaini & Sarchi. \n9 reasons you should come for this trip:\n1# Does not matter if you have never done trips with strangers\, you hesitate to open\, or you are an introvert. This trip will make sure you have a time of your life. \n2# We will be going on a walk on the edges of a river and your morning tea will with be with the sound of the gushing river. \n3# We will be hiking and finding a waterfall deep inside a forest. \n4# We will cross-forest to reach meadows and see 360-degree view mountains. Adventure overloaded. \n5# We will enjoy quality time in an old local house\, you can read a book by sitting on the windows of the house and watch snowfall (depends on the weather). \n6# We will play dozen of games\, learn to cook local food and enjoy conversations over a cup of homemade tea. \n7# We will behave like college days when a cup of chai\, a game board and a bunch of friends was a definition of king size life. \n8# If offbeat is your kind of travel and you want to explore yourself a little more then this trip is for you. \n9# We are taking as many precautions as possible to make it a super safe trip (Covid RT-PCR test is mandatory) \n  \nPS: If you seek the comfort of hotels\, hot running water and 5-star facilities than this trip is not for you! If you are localite than meet us at Starbucks near Airport gate number 3. \nwe will start at between 7 pm-8 pm so that can reach in the early morning hours. \n  \nDay 1:\nGusaini\nToday\, we will reach our home for the next 3 days. Will have some rest and get fresh. \nIn the afternoon we will go and explore the gorgeous river\, gushing just opposite our home. We will go on a long walk with the river to feel the nature. \nEvening is dedicated to some games like Antakshri\, UNO etc. \n  \nDay 2:\nChhoie Waterfall:\nDepending on the weather\, today we will start our journey to a gorgeous waterfall named Chhoie. We will go on a 3 km walk that begins from Village Nagini which takes about 1 hour. The waterfall is named after local deity Chhoi Mata and locals come to worship the goddess at one of the trees before the waterfall. \nStar Gazing:\nIf you love constellations than just lie down and see the beautiful stars with the sound of the river water\, if that is called star gazing than we will do it like a pro \n. \nDay 3:\nSarchi:\nToday we will go to Sarchi and Kamala Village.  The top hill gives a scenic view of Tirthan Valley. With serene and picturesque thick foliage spots around\, you can also walk on to strike up a conversation with the locals who are quite resourceful regarding travel tips and unknown hidden gems. These villages act as a base to climb the Lambri top. \n  \nCooking Session\nToday’s lunch will be a cooking session for you\, you will learn and cook food in the most “Pahaadi” way possible. \nKnow how local cook\, understand their cooking style and then enjoy the rustic experience of being in the shoes of a real Pahaadi. \nThe evening will be the start of a small party with some local Daru and Antakshri and much more game. Walkers and joggers use the clifftop Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk\, with its dramatic scenery.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDay 2: Hyams Beach\nHyams Beach is a seaside village in the City of Shoalhaven\, New South Wales\, Australia\, on the shores of Jervis Bay. At the 2016 census\, it had a population of 112. \n\n\nWe will drive from Sydney to Hyams beach area and will stay nearby area.\n\n\nDay 3 & 4: Mount Kosciuszko\n\n\nMount Kosciuszko is mainland Australia’s highest mountain\, at 2\,228 metres above sea level. It is located on the Main Range of the Snowy Mountains in Kosciuszko National Park\, part of the Australian continent.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDay 5: Mount Oberon\n\n\nWilsons Promontory is solid 3-hour drive south-east of Melbourne\, taking either the M1 or the South Gippsland Hwy (M420) out of Melbourne. If taking the M1\, take Koo Wee Rup Road south from Pakenham\, which will eventually join up with the South Gippsland Hwy. The South Gippsland Hwy then veers left soon after the Lang Lang turn off\, and from there it’s straight through to Meeniyan. Here you turn off towards Fish Creek and follow the signage to Wilsons Prom.\n\n\n\n\nDay 6: Phillip Island\n\n\nPhillip Island\, a popular day trip from Melbourne\, lies just off Australia’s southern coast. At Summerland Beach\, spectators gather daily at sunset to watch the Penguin Parade\, when Little penguins come ashore in groups. The Nobbies outcrop is the viewing site for Seal Rocks\, home to a large colony of Australian fur seals. The Phillip Island Circuit is a well-known track for motorcycle and car racing. \n\nOne of the area’s most popular events\, the Penguin Parade allows visitors to catch a glimpse of the island’s native little penguins as they come back ashore after a day of fishing. Head to Summerland Beach for 180-degree viewing of the parade on their tiered seating.\n\n\nDay 7\,8 & 9: Great Ocean Road\n\n \nVictoria’s dramatic south-west coastline covers an incredible range of scenery. At the city’s centre is the modern Federation Square development\, with plazas\, bars\, and restaurants by the Yarra River. DESCRIPTION:TAWANG\n  \nA mighty gash in the earth fringed by magnificent mountains and speckled with gold-and-white gompas (Tibetan Buddhist monasteries)\, the Shangri La–like Tawang Valley waits at the end of a long\, spectacular route up from the Brahmaputra plains. Getting here is an adventure in itself as you zigzag up and down mountainsides where colourful prayer flags and stupas proliferate\, while the lush jungle gradually gives way to icy passes and peaks. Most of the populations in and en route to Tawang are Monpa\, Buddhist people who historically had their closest links with Tibet. Tawang’s setting is more beautiful than the town itself\, but murals of auspicious Buddhist emblems and colourful prayer wheels add interest to the central Old Market area. Along the way\, you can’t fail to notice the heavy Indian Army presence\, a consequence of the disputed border with China along Arunachal’s northern edge. \nOVERVIEW: 7 DAYS / 6 NIGHTS \nHIGHLIGHTS (Scroll for detail itinerary)\n Drive through high passes.\n Walk along the beautiful Kameng River.\n Caress sheep from a village nearby.\n Visit the most beautiful Sela Lake.\n Visit the largest Buddhist Monastery in India.\n Pay a tribute to the brave hearts of the Sino-Indian War of 1962.\n Visit the Bum La Pass before China Border. \nDAY 01 (10 Oct): ARRIVAL AT GUWAHATI AND TRANSFER TO BHALUKPONG (250Kms/6h)\nReach Guwahati on your own by any means. Our trip will start from Guwahati Airport at around 9am in the morning. After picking up our fellow travellers from multiple pickup points we’ll head directly towards Bhalukpong. Bhalukpong\, which falls in West Kameng District\, is 56 km from Tezpur. Bhalukpong\, at a height of 700 ft above sea level\, is a little town on the Kameng River and lies along the dense forests that form the border of the Pakhui Wildlife Sanctuary. Bhalukpong is a mesmerizing place for wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers. Scenic beauty\, high waterfalls and the banks of river Kameng surrounded by evergreen forests are a photographer’s delight. \nDAY 02 (11 Oct): BHALUKPONG TO DIRANG (140Kms/5h)\nAfter enjoying the wonderful morning and having our breakfast we’ll leave for Dirang. Dirang is an ideal getaway in West Kameng district with beautiful apple orchards and sheep breeding farms. The entire place is surrounded by apple & kiwi orchards and the atmosphere is picturesque. \nDAY 03 (12 Oct): DIRANG TO TAWANG (130Kms/4h)\nAfter getting up early in the morning and having our breakfast\, we’ll leave for the main attraction of our tour\, Tawang. We’ll drive to Tawang crossing Sela Pass (13720 ft.) which runs through a small ridge and along the paradise lake. We’ll stop to enjoy the Sella Pass and Paradise Lake. From the Sela pass road winds down to Jong Village. On the way to Jong we’ll visit Yashwant Garh War Memorial. After lunch at Jong Village we’ll continue for Tawang. On the way we’ll also visit Nuranang waterfall. \nDAY 04 (13 Oct): TAWANG LOCAL SIGHTSEEING\nAfter waking up to the beautiful view and having our breakfast we’ll visit the famous Tawang Monastery\, which is 400 years old\, accommodates over 500 monks and houses priceless Buddhist texts and scriptures. The Tibetan influence here is unmistakable\, with the elaborately painted wooden windows and other motifs. An 8 mt high gilded statue of the Buddha is seated here\, as are numerous ancient Thangkas or Traditional paintings and manuscripts. We’ll also visit the Craft Centre\, Tawang War Memorial. In the evening we’ll explore the local market dominated by the Tibetan settlements. \nDAY 05 (14 Oct): TAWANG – BUM LA PASS – TAWANG\nWe’ll start early today to visit the Bum La Pass\, China Border\, Madhuri Lake and many more. \nDAY 06 (15 Oct): TAWANG TO BOMDILA (170 Kms/6h)\nAfter getting up early in the morning and having our breakfast we’ll start our journey back and reach Bomdilla. Bomdila is situated at an altitude of over 8500 feet in the north eastern state of in Arunachal Pradesh in India. Hooked amongst the mighty mountainous ranges of Himalaya\, Bomdila is the headquarters of the West Kameng district of the state of Arunachal Pradesh and offers a panoramic view of the awesome Himalayan terrain. \nDAY 07 (16 Oct): BOMDILA TO GUWAHATI (340Kms/9h)\nEarly in the morning we’ll visit Bomdila Monastery and head back to Guwahati to catch our flight or train back to our home. \n  \n  \nSPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS\n• Carry light snacks\, fruits and water as the food might not be to your liking. After checking in and relaxing for a while we’ll start our day by visiting a few places like; \nUhl River: Barot is right next to the Uhl River. We can actually enjoy your meals sitting beside the river itself. \nNargu Wildlife Sanctuary: Nargu Wildlife Sanctuary is situated across the Uhl River and if we are lucky we can spot the Himalayan Monal\, Black Bear\, and Ghoral.\nBarot Temple: The temple is located at the banks of the river that can be visited after trekking down the hill for about 10 minutes. Shanan Hydel Project: This Hydel project is the main reason for Barot’s existence. Its history dates back to 1924 and was built by a Britisher Col. Betty.\nWe’ll also try our hands on some trout fishing. If we get lucky\, we might have an interesting dinner. \nDAY 02 (7 Mar): TREK TO WINCH CAMP\nAfter getting up early in the morning we can go on a walk around the village\, which will be the most de-stressing thing. After having our breakfast\, we’ll leave for Winch Camp. Winch Camp is the highest settlement in the Joginder Nagar at an altitude of 2\,400 meters. A Haulage Train in this beautiful valley used to take people from Headgear Camp to the Barot village through steep gradient. The slope is actually 90 degrees at some of the places. The haulage way car connects Joginder Nagar valley to Barot valley and in between\, there are several stations. Although\, the Haulage ride is now functional in some limited parts of the valley. We’ll try and reach here by lunchtime and set up our camps and wait for the magical sunset view from top. As the sun downs we’ll light up our campfire and spend the evening around it while chitchatting and sharing our awesome travel stories before retiring for the day. \nDAY 03 (8 Mar): RETURN TO BAROT AND HEAD BACK HOME\nWe’ll be waking up to the beautiful view while sipping our warm tea/coffee. It is located in Uttarakhand\, which in itself offers an abundance of natural beauty. It lies in the Garwali district and lies in the upper ranges of the Himalayas. \n  \nBest Time to visit Auli: \nAuli can be visited anytime during the year. However\, since Auli is the skiing destination and is famous for its snow-peaked mountains\, it is better to visit this beauty during the winter season. Reaching here during the winters might get difficult though due to road blockages\, so before leaving for this place do ask for the road conditions.\n \nWinters: During the months of November to February\, one can expect snowfall and the temperature goes down in negative 8 degrees. This is the best time when one can experience skiing activities. Many tourists come here during this time due to experience skiing.\n\nAuli offers really amazing views with high peaks of the Himalayas. One can see Nanda Devi from here. The mighty Nanda Devi is at a height of 7800 meters. From far you can see the snow-clad mountains and it is so relaxing to have a cup of tea while watching these mountains. The colours\, in fact\, become even more enchanting during the sunset time when the entire sky lit up in a shade of pink colour. This is the time when you will actually get the “peace of mind”.\n\n\nExperience Skiing in Auli\n\nAuli\, 16 km from Joshimath is an ideal winter resort run by Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam (GMVN). A 3 km long slope ranging from a height of 2519 to 3049 m is a major attraction. The Auli resort run by GMVN has snow beaters which beat the snow to keep the slopes fit for skiing at all times. A 500 m long ski-lift carries skiers back to the slope top\, thus saving them the trouble and time to bridge up wearing long skis.\n\nCable Car and Ropeway\n\nOne of the major attractions in Auli is to enjoy a cable car ride. Locally known as a Gondola\, the cable car ride in Auli is the second highest and the longest cable car ride in Asia after Gulmarg. Covering a total distance of 4 km\, the journey starts at Joshimath and ends at Auli\, and takes a total time of around 24 min. Perched at a staggering height of 3010 m above sea level\, the entire trip is a visual and sensual delight. You can enjoy the majestic Himalayan peaks in the surroundings and the lush green valley below. The scintillating views and the gorgeous panoramic vistas are a sight to behold. \nThe ropeway works with two cable cars through 10 towers and can accommodate up to 25 passengers. Water from the lake is utilized to sustain the snow firearms positioned along the ski slants. After getting through all the immigration formalities we’ll directly get transferred to the harbour from where we will board the vessel to cruise through an exciting and fun-filled itinerary for 2 days. \nHalong Bay’s karsts are thought to have evolved over a period of 20 million years. The entire area stretches over 1\,553 square kilometres and contains up to 2\,000 islets\, with 775 islets in the core bay area. It’s one of Vietnam’s most biodiverse zones\, with signs of human habitation dating back tens of thousands of years. One of the best ways to appreciate this one of the seven wonders of nature is on a luxurious overnight cruise through the karsts\, watching the sunset – and sunrise – from the deck. We’ll be picked up from the hotel and transferred to the harbour from where we will board the vessel to cruise through an exciting and fun-filled itinerary for 2 days. \nDAY 02: RETURN FROM HA LONG BAY AND TRANSFER TO NINH BINH \nStart the day at sunrise\, with a Tai Chi session on the deck. Then\, explore the caves along the bay – Trinh Nu and Hang Trong (the Virgin Cave and the Cave of the Wind) that are encrusted with spectacular rock formations. Then we’ll be dropped off to the Hanoi city centre\, from where will drive to Ninh Binh. \n90 odd kilometres from the capital city of Hanoi\, Ninh Binh is a small city in the Red River Delta of northern Vietnam. It is a fascinating place where apart from an inspiring scenery\, you have easy access to the most rural and authentic side of the country. It boasts of the most majestic and spectacular natural landscape in Southeast Asia\, called Trang An Landscape Complex. After checking in and having lunch we’ll go visit Thung Nham Bird Sanctuary. Evening we can spend strolling the market and trying out some local street food.  \nDAY 03: EXPLORE THE WONDERS OF NINH BINH AND TRANSFER TO HANOI IN EVENING \nWake up before Sun to go on a hike to the Mua Caves. Have breakfast at the hotel after returning and then checkout and visit the gems of the city like Trang An Landscape Complex\, Bai Dinh Pagoda and Hoa Lu Temple etc. In the evening we’ll get transferred to Hanoi and explore the Old Quarter area of the city on foot. \nDAY 04: FULL DAY CITY TOUR OF HANOI \nHanoi\, the capital of Vietnam\, and also its second-largest city\, is a fascinating blend of East and West\, combining traditional Sino-Vietnamese motifs with French flair. It is largely unharmed from the decades of war and is now going through a building boom\, making it a rapidly developing city in Southeast Asia.  \nHanoi is full of museums\, temples\, parks\, lakes and wartime sites to see\, the most famous include Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum\, Lotte observation deck\, one pillar pagoda and of course the Imperial Citadel. In the evening we can go for a Vespa Ride zipping through the streets of Hanoi and making intervals to experience Vietnam’s eminent street food\, culture and vibrant nightlife. \nDAY 05: FLY TO HUE AND EXPLORE THE IMPERIAL CITY \nThe deeply evocative capital of Nguyen emperors\, the last royal dynasty of Vietnam\, Hue is a city in central Vietnam that sits along the bank of Perfume River. The city is a marvellous blend of new and old as sleek modern hotels tower over crumbling 19th-century Citadel walls. \nAfter landing here in the morning we’ll get transferred to our hotel. After checking in and having lunch we’ll go and explore the imperial city. The night we can enjoy the walk along the promenade of Perfume River. \nDAY 06: TRANSFER TO DA NANG AND ENJOY THE BEST BEACH OF VIETNAM \nAfter having breakfast and checking out of the hotel from Hue we’ll drive for a couple of hours to reach         Da Nang. En route\, we’ll visit the Marble Mountains\, a cluster of five hills made from limestone and marble in Da Nang. It’s also a well-known pilgrimage site with peaks\, caves\, tunnels and temples all just waiting to be discovered. Named after the elements metal\, wood\, water\, fire and earth\, Marble Mountains exist in a coastal area that is renowned for stone-cutting and sculpture. There are also Buddhist sanctuaries and places of worship dotted across the mountains which are a much-visited spiritual site. You can even see a special circular cave here. It leads to the summit\, where you can enjoy spectacular panoramic views. In the evening we can go for a swim in the South China Sea. After that\, we can explore the local market. \nDAY 07: FULL DAY EXCURSION TO THE ANCIENT CITY OF HOI AN \nHoi An\, the historic city\, is recognized as an exceptionally well-preserved example of a South-East Asian trading port dating from the 15th to the 19th century. The architectural designs and streets of Hoi An reflect influences of both foreign and indigenous cultures. This unique blend is the reason why UNESCO has also declared Hoi An as a World Heritage Site. The city of Hoi An completely justifies its meaning\, ‘Peaceful Meeting Place’. Yellow walls\, old wooden houses of Chinese merchants\, colourful lanterns\, small shops\, proximity to a lovely beach and a quiet countryside are what describe this peaceful town. This love at the first sight city will be our second destination of the trip. After having our breakfast early in the morning we’ll start our journey to the My Son Sanctuary\, which is about an hour ride from the city. My Son sanctuary consists of a bunch of abandoned and partially ruined Hindu temples mainly dedicated to Lord Siva. The temples were believed to be constructed between 4th to 14th century AD by the Champas\, who were independent Hindu kings in the south and central Vietnam with roots from central Java. Later today we’ll explore the ancient city of Hoi An. Some other places to visit are Japanese Covered Bridge\, Kim Bong Carpentry Village\, Thanh Ha Pottery Village and Vinahouse Craft Village etc. \nDAY 08: DA NANG TO HO CHI MINH CITY \nThe last destination of our trip\, Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) is Vietnam’s most dizzying: a high-octane city of commerce and culture that has driven the country forward with its pulsating energy. A chaotic whirl\, the city breathes life and vitality into all who settle here\, and visitors cannot help but be hauled along for the ride. Wander through timeless alleys to incense-infused temples before negotiating chic designer malls beneath sleek 21st-century skyscrapers. The ghosts of the past live on in buildings that one generation ago witnessed a city in turmoil which now is a city of energy and discovery. We’ll go on a city tour and witness some historical and as well as modern sights and landmarks that has this city to offer. Some of the major sights include Cu Chi Tunnels\, Central Post Office and The World of Heineken etc. \nDAY 09: HEAD BACK HOME \nWe can explore some more of the city before finally transferring to the Airport. It’s time for us to head back home with the great experience and stories from these destinations. We will meet at the airport and will take you to the border town of India and Bhutan\, Phuentsholing. We’ll wait till tomorrow to get permission and immigration papers. \nDAY 02 (14 Oct): PHUENTSHOLING TO THIMPHU 150 KM / 6H \nAfter breakfast and getting our paperwork done\, we’ll proceed towards Thimpu via the wonderful mystic town Gedu\, which is about 9000 ft above the sea and Chukha Dam. On the way\, we’ll also visit Crocodile Park\, Kharbondi Gumpha\, Wankha waterfalls and will take a halt at Chojum to take photographs of the confluence of two rivers of Bhutan\, Thimphu Chu and Paro Chu. We’ll reach Thimphu in the late afternoon & Check in Hotel. In Evening we can go and visit Tashi Chhoe Dzong or the Fortress of the Glorious Region is another ‘must visit’ site. Situated on the west bank of Wang Chu river\, Tashi Chhoe Dzong is the formal coronation site of the fifth King. The Dzong also hosts the annual Tsechu festival. Built-in 1641 by the political and religious unifier of Bhutan\, Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal\, it was reconstructed in the 1960s in traditional Bhutanese manner\, without nails or architectural plans. \nDAY 03 (15 Oct): THIMPHU SIGHTSEEING \nThe National Memorial Chorten or Thimpu Chorten is a site for evening prayer. The chorten or stupa was built in the memory of the third king\, continuously circumambulated by people\, murmuring mantras and spinning their prayer wheels. Construction of this landmark was the idea of Bhutan’s third king\, His Majesty Jigme Dorji Wangchuk (“the father of modern Bhutan”) who has wished to erect a monument to world peace and prosperity. Completed in 1974 after his untimely death\, it serves both as a memorial to the Late King and as a monument to peace. \nSakyamuni Buddha – On the top of Kuensel Phodrang hill sits the statue of Sakyamuni Buddha. The 51.5-meter long bronze statue would surely attract you and the uninterrupted view of the valley would leave you spellbound. The site is also known as Buddha View Point. \nChangangkha Lhakhang – At Thimphu\, you will go across several monasteries and temples. Changangkha Lhakhang is among the most important religious structures in Thimphu. The structure dates back to the 15th century and is one of the oldest in the region. The structure is dedicated to Avalokiteshvara\, the sign of compassion. You will also enjoy the grand view of Thimphu valley from here. \nTakin Zoo – You will find the National animal of Bhutan “Takin” in this open zoo. Takin is one of the most endangered species of the World and it is available only in Bhutan. \nThe National Library has got a fabulous collection of Buddhist manuscripts which are priceless. It also houses the World’s largest published book which is about 130 pounds and 5X7 feet. \n \nZorig Chusum – Institute for Zorig Chusum (commonly known as the Painting School) where students undergo a 6-year training course in Bhutan’s 13 traditional arts and crafts. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDAY 04 (16 Oct): THIMPHU TO PUNAKHA 85KM / 2.5H \nAfter having breakfast and checking out we’ll start for Punakha. On the way we’ll visit: \nDochula view point stop – The first stop after leaving Thimphu on the journey is Dochu La pass around 3100 m high and way above the clouds.  Only an hour’s drive from Thimphu\, it offers visitors their first glimpse of the Eastern Himalayan range. From the pass\, the road curls its way down into the relative lowlands of the Punakha Valley. Punakha was the ancient capital city of the Kingdom before Thimphu was made the permanent capital of Bhutan. Upon reaching Punakha and checking in at the hotel we’ll go visit: \nChimi Lhakhang – Situated at the top of a hillock in the heart of Punakha valley\, the Chimi Lhakhang is a site dedicated to Lama Drukpa Kuenley. Known as the ‘Divine Madman’\, Lama Drukpa Kuenley is said to made use of songs\, humour and his outrageous behaviour to preach his teachings. Chimi Lhathang is actually a temple and is believed to be the temple of fertility. Bhutanese hold a strong belief that Couples who do not have children get blessed by Lama Drukpa Kuenley if they visit the temple and pray for a child. A picturesque rural trail through a paddy field takes visitors to the temple from the road.  After crossing the paddy field you will find a tiny stream from where Chimi Lhakhang is a just a short climb away.  \nPunakha Dzong: Beautiful Punakha Dzong(known as the  “the palace of great happiness”)\, located at the confluence of the Pho Chhu (father) and Mo Chhu (mother) rivers in the Punakha–Wangdue valley. The city’s dzong is one of the most picturesque of all Bhutan’s ancient fortresses\, the dzong is joined to the mainland by an arched wooden bridge\, and contains many precious relics from the days when successive kings reined the kingdom from this valley. \nSuspension Bridge – Visit the hidden treasure of Punakha Valley\, the longest suspension bridge over River Mo. \nWangdue – After crossing the Fo-Chu-Mo-Chu river\, drive along with the Wangdue phrasing and visit newly developed small beautiful town\, Bazo Town in Wangdue. \nDAY 05 (17 Oct): PUNAKHA TO PARO 130KM / 4H \nWe’ll start early today to reach Paro on time and after reaching and checking in at the hotel we’ll go visit: \nTa Dzong – Ta Dzong\, once a watchtower\, built to defend Rinpung Dzong during inter-valley wars of the 17th century\, Ta Dzong was inaugurated as Bhutan’s National Museum in 1968. \nNational Museum of Bhutan: Situated right above Rinpung Dzong in Paro\, the National Museum of Bhutan is a house that showcases Bhutan’s culture. Built-in 1968\, the museum stands inside the ancient Ta-dzong building. The museum houses the collection of finest specimens of Bhutanese culture and art and its highlights are paintings and some bronze statues\, which are simply masterpieces. The items are demonstrated in large galleries and you can get to know a lot about Bhutan’s art and culture from these objects. \nRinpung Dzong – Built-in 1646 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal \, the first spiritual and temporal ruler of Bhutan\, the Dzong houses the monastic body of Paro\, the office of the Dzongda (district administrative head) and Thrimpon (judge) of Paro district. The approach to the Dzong is through a traditional covered bridge called Nemi Zam. \nNya Mey Zam Bridge – “The Bridge with No Fish ” is the bridge that connects Paro Town to Dzong.It is one of the finest specimens in Bhutan and local believes if one sees a fish in the river\, it is an ill omen. The earlier bridge which could be folded during the war was washed away by the flood in 1969. \nParo Airport View Point – This is the finest valley viewpoint to look after Paro Valley and Paro Airport. This viewpoint overlooking the Paro river along with all the Dzongs and Monastery. \n \nDAY 06 (18 Oct): PARO SIGHTSEEING – TAKTSANG MONASTERY (TIGER NEST) \nTaktsang Monastery: If you can brave the risky cliffs on a high mountain\, Paro will astonish you in the form of Taktsang Monastery. After covering 1200 metres on a fierce cliff you will reach this sacred site\, also known as the Tiger’s Nest. Take a deep breath after reaching the spot and then comfort your eyes and soul with the stunning view of the scenic surroundings and the valley lying underneath. The Taktsang Monastery was established by Sain Guru Rinpoche who came to Bhutan in 747 CE. Construction of the complex was completed in 1694. Discovering the Tiger’s Nest after 3 hours of trekking is real adventure but you may also opt for a horse ride from the parking lot. \nKyichu Lhakhang – Kyichu Lhakhang\, (also known as Kyerchu Temple or Lho Kyerchu) is an important Himalayan Buddhist temple situated in Lamgong Gewog of Paro District in Bhutan. Kerala’s Idukki district is home to the beautiful hill-station of Munnar. An erstwhile summer resort to the British\, the forested hills are home to the three rivers of Mattupetti\, Nallathanni and Periavaru. A tea-scented daydream\, Munnar’s plantations are swarmed with tourists throughout the year. Kerala’s illustrious Eravikulam National Park is situated in Munnar and is home to the endangered species of the Nilgiri Tahr. In fact\, the wildlife of this Kerala town\, boasting of the lion-tailed macaque and elephant herds\, is a major contributing factor to Munnar’s sightseeing.  \n  \nDAY 04 (24 Sep): EXPLORING MUNNAR \nWe’ll start early today to see the mesmerizing sunrise over the mountains of Munnar. Then after having our breakfast we’ll go exploring the hill town which has many places to visit like Tata Tea Museum\, Mattupetty Dam\, Echo Point\, Blossom Hydel Park\, Kundala Dam Lake and Top Station. \nDAY 05 (25 Sep): MUNNAR TO THEKKADY \nAfter having breakfast and checking out from hotel we’ll drive to our next destination\, Thekkady. Thekkady in Kerala State\, India’s largest wildlife sanctuary is a dream destination for any tourist visiting India. The 120 years old ‘Surki’ dam built across Peryiar\, Poorna in Vedic parlance\, is a major tourist attraction. This sanctuary is spread over an area of 777 Sq.Kms\, surrounded by an artificial lake over an area of 25 Sq.Kms.The Country’s sole Tiger reserve\, Thekkady\, with its bountiful treasures of tropical flora and fauna is the ultimate reservoir of many an endangered species and a rich tribal culture. Thekkady is a pleasant heaven on earth for those who love nature in its wild manifestations. Upon arrival and checking in at the hotel we’ll go on a tour of the most famous Periyar National Park. \nDAY 06 (26 Sep): THEKKADY TO ALLEPPY \nAfter having our breakfast and checking out from hotel we’ll get transferred to the city famously known as Venice of the East\, Alleppey. From distant Alleppey is only a beach town with couple of beaches\, sand\, sea and sunset. But when you come here you will find there is more to Alleppey and it’s far from the sunset\, beach shack and other usual stuffs. The plan has been successful\, this area if jumping! \n\n\n\n\n\nArcul de Trium\n\n\nBucharest has its very own Arch of Triumph! This monument was made\, speedily\, to celebrate the end of World War I. The original design did not last long but was replaced with stone. Unfortunately\, there was (and is often) ugly construction around the beautiful Arc. Partying is one of the more obvious things to do at night in Bucharest! \n\n\n\n\n\nDay 2 Sinaia (128km/2 hrs)\nToday we will start our road trip in Romania!\nWe will travel to Sinaia\n\nSinaia is a town in central Romania’s Bucegi Mountains\, surrounded by ski trails. Its 17th-century Sinaia Monastery was once a royal family residence. German neo-Renaissance Peleș Castle\, now a museum\, has Klimt frescoes and stained-glass windows. The smaller\, neighboring Pelișor Castle has a half-timbered facade. Across the Prahova River\, the George Enescu Memorial House is the former home of the Romanian musician. \n\n\nBabele or the Old Ladies(Bucegi Mountains)\n\nYes\, you read correctly. The Old Ladies and the Sphinx! Yes\, in Romania. At  2292 meters altitude\, in fact.Legends abound regarding how these rock formations came to be. They look like they just sprouted from the otherwise flat plateau. They are natural monuments\, a witness to erosion\, and maybe to human intervention. Yet\, no one knows for sure. They have stood tall just as they do today for as far as anyone can remember.Babele or the Old Ladies is the name given to a group of these rocks. Perhaps from a certain angle they look like old ladies hunched over. Or perhaps their name is a testament to the fact that they are ancient. And timeless. Then there’s the so-called Sphinx. Not identical to the Egyptian monument\, but it’s not difficult to see why it has received this imposing title. \n\n\n\nPeles Castle\nPeleș Castle is a Neo-Renaissance castle in the Carpathian Mountains\, near Sinaia\, in Prahova County\, Romania\, on an existing medieval route linking Transylvania and Wallachia\, built between 1873 and 1914. Its inauguration was held in 1883. It was constructed for King Carol I.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSinaia Monastery\n\n \nOne of the oldest monasteries in the country\, Sinaia Monastery. With a history that goes back 300 years\, marked by a special relationship with the royal family\, this venerable monastery is a must-see attraction thanks to its two churches built 150 years apart.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOrient Express Train station\n\nYes\, orient express which starts from Paris and goes uptill Istanbul also stops at Sinaia station. You can click a picture here to brag about you being here.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDay 3 & 4 Poiana Brasov (52km/1 hrs)\nSinaia-Poiana Brasov-Rasnov -Bran\nWe will travel to Poiana Brasov and it will be our base for next 2 days\n\nPoiana Brasov\n\n \nPoiana Brașov is a neighborhood of Brasov and a Romanian ski resort popular among visitors from many European states. After the 2010s modernization\, the ski area has expanded from 50 hectares to 80 hectares and the slopes length was increased from 13.8 km to 23.9 km. most slopes now have snow cannons installed. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nRasnov Fortress (10km)\n \n\nRâșnov Fortress is a historic monument and landmark in Romania. It is situated in Râşnov\, Brașov County\, in the immediate vicinity of Brașov. The fortress was built as part of a defence system for the Transylvanian villages exposed to outside invasions \n\n  \n\nBran Castle (14 km)\n\nMany legends are connected with Bran Castle. It is said the castle belonged to Count Dracula (VladTepes)\, but nobody has any proof. Vlad Tepes lived only for a short time in the castle and only as a guest.The truth is that Bran Castle conjures up the perfect Gothic fairy-tale image of a Transylvanian castle and as a result it draws crowds of tourists from far and wide. In 1897 Bram Stoker wrote a terrifying story about Count Dracula. A century after\, there are still people who believe in it. Even researchers are trying to find out the truth about Dracula. All are trying to clear the mystery: was there or wasn’t there a vampire in Transylvania? Stoker’s story is based on the life of Vlad Tepes/Vlad the Impaler (1431-1476)\, a ruler revered by Romanians for standing up to the Ottoman Empire. Known as one of the most dreadful enemies of the Turks\, Vlad started organizing the state and enforcing the law by applying death penalty and impaling all those he considered enemies: robbers\, cunning priests\, treacherous noblemen\, beggars\, usurper Saxons. The historians nicknamed him Vlad Tepes while people say he was Count Dracula because he used to sign with his father’s name\, Dracul “The Devil”. Dracula is derived from the Romanian word for devil or dragon. His castle is supposed to be Bran’s Castle since its narrow corridors constitute a mysterious labyrinth of ghostly nooks and secret chambers easy to hide a “vampire”.The Dracula’s Castle was built on the edge of the Bran Pass and nowadays lures guests worldwide who wish to partake in the legend of the Count Dracula. \n  \n\n\nBlack church\n\nThe dimensions of the Black Church from Brasov are monumental\, it’s 90 meters long\, 25 to 37 meters wide\, 65 meters tall\, with a capacity of receiving up to 5\,000 people and walls 21 meters high. Initially named Saint Mary’s Church after the patron saint of Brasov\, the church was built starting with the 14th century on the location of an older and smaller religious edifice. \nThe magnitude of the church’s dimension was meant to impress worshipers and gain new adepts for the Catholic Church that reached in Transylvania its Eastern border. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n Old city centre \n\nStrada Sforii (Rope street)\n\nStrada Sforii—which translates roughly as “Rope Street”—was built in the 15th century to afford fire fighting brigades passage between the major thoroughfares at either end. Given its close proximity to Brașov’s main square\, Piața Sfatului\, and the historically significant Gothic Lutheran church Biserica Neagră (“Black Church”) found therein\, Strada Sforii has gone from an urban planning hack to a popular tourist attraction. \nMeasuring 80 meters (260 feet) long and varying in width from 111-135 centimeters (44-53 inches)\, Strada Sforii is the third-narrowest street in Europe\, after Spreuerhofstraße in Reutlingen\, Germany (recognized by Guinness as the narrowest street in the world) and Parliament Street in Exeter\, England. At its narrowest point\, visitors can touch both walls on either side of the street. \n\n\n\nViscri (14km)\n\n\n Village of Viscri\nViscri is the well preserved Romanian village where you can have a feel of real Romania.And maybe the fact that the village doesn’t have a paved street and is far from the main road helps to preserve its authentic view of a Saxon village from the Middle Ages.The most interesting fact about the Transylvanian village is that HRH Prince Charles himself has a B&B in Viscri. It is a well preserved and authentic furnished blue Saxon-Transylvanian house. You can have a great stay in this beautiful house. \n\n  \nThe fortified church \n\nAll these amazing old buildings and the village itself are in the list of World Heritage Sites of UNESCO (1999). The first buildings were erected in 12th century when the Saxons settled the area. \nOver the years the church had undergone many transformations and reconstructions. In the middle ages the walls were strengthened. The current look of the complex is perhaps due to the XVIII century’s renovations. \n\n\n\n\nDay 5 (130km/2 hrs)\nSighisoara\nSighișoara is a city on the Târnava Mare River in Mureș County\, Romania. Located in the historic region of Transylvania\, Sighișoara has a population of 28\,102 according to the 2011 census. It is a popular tourist destination for its well-preserved walled old town\, which is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSighisoara Citadel\n\nThroughout time\, the Sighisoara citadel has seen many tragic moments: the Mongol invasion\, rebellions\, fires\, witch trials\, and executions. Tradition called for each corporation of craftsmen to erect a defense tower. Out of the 14 towers built originally\, nine survived to this day. The most famous of them\, the Clock Tower\, was used in the past as a holding cell for prisoners sentenced to death. In modern times it was transformed into a museum\, hosting a collection of weapons and military equipment\, as well as a torture chamber. Each summer\, the Medieval Festival brings back to life the city’s fairytale past. Its streets are then filled with troubadours and acrobats\, kings and queens\, knights and princesses\, witches and inquisitors.\n\n\nCovered staircase \n\nLocated at the end of School Street and connecting the Citadel Square with\nthe Church on the Hill\, the Scholars’ Stairs\, or Schoolboys’ Stairs\, as it was also known\, makes for an interesting piece of medieval architecture. \nBuilt in 1642\, the covered stair-passage was meant to facilitate and protect schoolchildren and churchgoers on their climb to the school and church during wintertime. Originally\, the stairs had 300 steps\, but after 1849\, their number\nwas reduced to 175. \n\n  \nVlad The Impaler’s birth house (so Dracula birth house)\n\n\nThe ancient house of the Vlad Dracul family is situated on the Council tower square in what after the assumptions the dreadful Vlad Tepes born. The son of an ancient imperator of Tara Romaneasca was well-known for his cruel executions through what he disposed of his enemies. From this born the world-wild known legend of Dracula.Vlad Tepes so called Dracula probably borned in this house in 1431 and supposedly he also lived here until the age of four as his father lived between 1431-1436 in the castle-town. Actually in the house functions a bar and a restaurant. \n  \n  \n  \nDay 6 Sibiu (105/1:45 hrs)\nSibiu :The Beating Heart Of Romania (90km)\n\n\nSibiu is a city in Transylvania\, central Romania. It’s known for Germanic architecture in its old town\, the legacy of 12th-century Saxon settlers. Around the city are the remains of medieval walls and towers\, including the 13th-century Council Tower. In the upper town\, Brukenthal Palace now houses the Brukenthal National Museum\, with European paintings. The nearby Evangelical Cathedral has gravestones in its walls.\n\n\nOrthodox Cathedral\n\nBuilt between 1902 and 1906\, Sibiu’s enormous Orthodox Cathedral was\, surprisingly\, designed by two Budapest-based Hungarian architects\, Virgil Nagy and Iosif Kamner. The ornate exterior (two colours of pressed stone set in horizontal stripes) is complemented by a wonderful interior\, possibly the most extravagantly decorated of any church in Romania. Its centrepiece is a huge dome boasting colourful mosaics painted in Munich\, although the gargantuan golden altar will not fail to catch your eye. Later additions include paintings from the 1950s by Ioan Köber and Anastase Demian\, including the impressive frescoes at the altar. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPiata Mica\n\nWalking through the passage underneath Turnul Sfatului\, you will come to Piata Mica (The Small Square) which you will notice immediately is anything but small\, and is not exactly square either. It is delightful though: much quieter\, shadier and simply more peaceful than its busy neighbour. It’s home to some great cafes\, restaurants and bars\, as well as museums and historic houses. In the middle of the square is Strada Ocnei\, the main street to the lower town\, which passes under the wrought iron Podul Minciunilor (Liars’ Bridge)\, so called because of the ne’er-do-wells and cheating merchants who would\, legend has it\, gather on it. \n\n  \nOther Attractions:\n\nGrand Square\nCouncil Tower\nCross The Bridge of Lies\nLower Town\nThe passage  of the stairs\nBrukenthal National Museum- Van Gough\,\nHireoymus Bosch artwork\nSfatuli- imposing tower\n\n\nDay 7 TransfagarasanRoute (78 km/2:00 hrs)\nTransfagarasan Route & Balea Lake \n\n \nNamed the “the best road in the world” by the Top Gear team in 2009\, Transfagarasan has enjoyed a great popularity among the most beautiful roads in the world since. \nIt is the second highest road in Romania and it is known for its spectacular landscapes. This means 151 km of road curves and twists perfectly set for driving enthusiasts\, but also for those who want to admire the beauty of nature in a unique location. \nThe road links Sibiu to Pitesti and it’s sprinkled with many switchbacks\, bridges\, viaducts\, tunnels and a lot of sights such as Balea Waterfall\, Balea Lake\, Capra Lake (Goat Lake)\, Vidraru Dam\, Vidraru Lake\, Poenari Castle and so on. \n\n Balea Lake\n\nGeographically\, Bâlea Lake came to be when a glacier eroded the mountains and then melted. Historically\, there is a legend related to the lake’s name\, whose main character is the young shepherd Balea.The story goes that one day he was herding his sheep in the mountains\, near a forest. Suddenly\, a bear jumped out from the trees\, but Balea was brave enough to defeat him and chase him away.When the king heard of his courage\, Balea was invited to be part of the king’s guards. His stay at the castle came with the love of the king’s oldest daughter. She managed to convince the shepherd to marry her\, but on their wedding day\, a violent storm appeared out of nowhere. A cultural melting pot with Greek\, Slavic\, Ottoman\, and Persian influences\, it has a rich heritage of traditional dance\, music\, costumes\, and crafts. At the foot of domed Vitosha mountain is its capital city\, Sofia\, dating to the 5th century B.C.\nDay 9\nLand in Sofia (capital) and check-in in hotel. \nAlexander Nevsky Cathedral\nThe gold-domed Alexander Nevsky Cathedral was built in the early 20th century in memory of the 200\,000 Russian\, Ukrainian\, Belorussian and Bulgarian soldiers\, who died in the Russo-Turkish War\, 1877–1878. It is one of the largest Eastern Orthodox cathedrals in the world. The cathedral’s gold-plated dome is 45 m high\, with the bell tower reaching 50.52 m.\n  \n  \n  \nSt Nicholas the Miracle-Maker\n\n\n \nRussian Church\, which is a 6-minute walk from St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. With gold-plated onion domes and a fairytale exterior\, the Russian Church is a must-see site during your one day in Sofia. After you have a chance to admire the church’s interior\, head outside and to the right. There’s a door leading to the crypt where the grave of Archbishop Seraphim Sobolev is located. The Archbishop was known as a wonderworker\, and locals write him notes filled with their wishes and prayers. Paper and pencils are provided. Simply sit down\, write down a wish\, and place it at Seraphim Sobolev’s grave. \n\n  \n  \nBoyana Church\n\nThe medieval Bulgarian Orthodox church is part of the UNESCO World Heritage List and was built in three stages from the 10th to the 19th century. In the 13th century\, the beautiful interior paintings were made\, which make the Boyana Church so special and interesting for visitors. Some researcher even called the Boyana church a predecessor of the Renaissance. Nearby the beautiful church you can also find the Boyana waterfall\, which can be added to your stop. The Boyana Church is definitely one of the best places in Sofia.\n  \n  \nSofia Ballet\nWe will enjoy the famous Sofia Ballet in Sofia.\nThe dance troupe is primarily constituted of the foremost dancers from Eastern European ballet companies who are also our partners in the various productions and tours. Costumes and scenery are those of the Eastern European theaters or customized and tailored to a specific project.The soloists of the company are soloists of Sofia National Opera and Ballet\, Bucharest National Opera and Ballet\, Chisinau National Opera and Ballet\, Ballet Nacional de Cuba\, Norwegian National Opera and Ballet\, Macedonian Opera and Ballet\, etc. The repertoire performed by the Sofia Ballet hosts major classical ballets\, it remains faithful to the Great Russian school and tradition through: The Nutcracker\, Swan Lake\, Sleeping Beauty\, Giselle\, Don Quixote\, etc.\n\nTsar Ivan Shishman Street & Central Sofia Market Hall\n\nThe Central Sofia Market Hall is a covered market in the center of Sofia city\, on Maria Louise Blvd. also known as Halite or Tsentralni Hali. It was opened back in 1911 and today is an one of the strategic shopping locations in the city. \nThe style is Neo-Renaissance\, and features elements of Neo-Byzantine as well as Neo-Baroque architecture. Interesting features on the facade include the relief of the coat of arms of Sofia above the main entrance and the famous small clock tower with three dials on top of the edifice. The building was originally constructed with 4 entrances\, only 3 are used today. \n\n\n\nThe Royal Palace\nBuilt in 1873\, it was the residence of the ruling governor during the Ottoman occupation\, with administrative offices and police headquarters on the lower floors. It was in fact here that Vassil Levski was tried and sentenced to death. After liberation it became the seat of Bulgaria’s first post liberation monarch\, Knyaz Alexander Battenberg and it was the first building to be refurbished in contemporary Viennese style\, with Austrian architects Rumpelmaier and Gruenanger each adding new wings.\nIt is now home to the National Art Gallery and the Ethnographic Museum and this is the only way the palace can be visited. The exterior has recently been restored to its former glory.\nFew more attractions :\n\nSynagogue\nHailte central market\nFountain Museum\nNational Palace of Culture\n\nDay 10\n\nPlovdiv (Day tour) \nTake a morning train to Plovdiv (150km/2.30h) \n \n  \nPlovdiv is an ancient city built around 7 hills\, in southern Bulgaria. The Regional Archaeological Museum chronicles the city’s history\, with exhibits including mosaic panels\, clay lamps and early coins. The Roman-era Ancient Theatre of Philippopolis\, which once seated around 6\,000\, now hosts opera and concerts. \nMain Street \nThe Main Street is a pedestrian area in the center of Plovdiv. It starts from Central Square at the venue of Ramada Plovdiv Trimontium hotel. Down the Main Street are Stefan Stambolov Square with the Municipality building\, the Roman Stadium and Dzhumaya mosque. Near the mosque\, the street loosely bounds the Old Town and The Trap (Kapana District)\, which is in the close proximity of the so-called Small Main Street (Rayko Daskalov Str.). Here is the Spopping Center Hali\, after which the Main Street crosses 6th September Blvd. in underpass at Maritsa Pharmacy and ends at the pedestrian bridge over Maritsa River\, which marks the end of the shopping area. \nAncient theater of philippopolis \n \nThe Roman theatre of Plovdiv is one of the world’s best-preserved ancient theatres\, located in the city center of Plovdiv\, Bulgaria. It was constructed in the 90s of the 1st century AD\, probably under the rulership of Emperor Domitian. The theatre can host between 5000 and 7000 spectators and it is currently in use. \n\n\n\nHisar Kapia\nHisar Kapia is a medieval gate in Plovdiv’s old town and one of the most famous tourist sights in the city. The gate was built in the 11th century AD over the foundations of a gate from Roman times. Hisar Kapia is one of the three entrances to the acropolis of ancient Plovdiv.\n\n\n  \n  \nIn the evening we will be back to Sofia \nDay 11\nToday we will do a road trip to Rila Monastery and Rila 7 lakes: \n\nAs you can probably guess\, they are 7 lakes all in close proximity of each other high up in the mountains. In winter\, they are frozen over and covered in snow. In summer\, once melted\, they are a clear emerald green and sapphire blue\, and each one is incredibly beautiful. \nEach of the 7 lakes has a name so these are the ones you want to tick off: \n\nSalzata  (The Tear) – very clear waters that really show off the colours of the lakes\nOkoto (The Eye) – this has a oval shape resembling an eye\nBabreka (The Kidney) – this has a crescent shape resembling a kidney\nBliznaka (The Twins) – this is almost two lakes that are connected\nTrilistnika (The Trefoil) – this looks like a three-leafed clover\nRibnoto (Fish lake) – this is the shallowest of all the lakes\nDolnoto ezero (The Lower lake) – this is the lowest of all the lakes\n\nYes\, it is a trek and you will love it. \n\nRila Monastery: \n \nRila Monastery was founded in the 10th century by St John of Rila\, a hermit canonized by the Orthodox Church. His ascetic dwelling and tomb became a holy site and were transformed into a monastic complex which played an important role in the spiritual and social life of medieval Bulgaria. Destroyed by fire at the beginning of the 19th century\, the complex was rebuilt between 1834 and 1862. A characteristic example of the Bulgarian Renaissance (18th–19th centuries)\, the monument symbolizes the awareness of a Slavic cultural identity following centuries of occupation. \n  \nDay 12\nBUDAPEST\n \nBudapest\, Hungary’s capital\, is bisected by the River Danube. Its 19th-century Chain Bridge connects the hilly Buda district with flat Pest. A funicular runs up Castle Hill to Buda’s Old Town\, where the Budapest History Museum traces city life from Roman times onward. Trinity Square is home to 13th-century Matthias Church and the turrets of the Fishermen’s Bastion\, which offer sweeping views.\n\n\nSzéchenyi Baths\n\nSzechenyi Spa Baths is in the biggest green park of Budapest\, in the City Park\, close to a bunch of Budapest attractions. The  Neo-baroque palace was specifically built for hosting Szechenyi Baths as Hungary has been the country of baths (and Budapest the City of Baths) for many centuries: starting with the Roman settlers who built the first spa baths\, through the 16th century Turkish occupiers who built many of the famous and revived Turkish baths in Budapest to the 19-20th century natural medical trends that promote aqua therapies and their deeply beneficial effects. The beautiful building of the spa baths is the design of Gyozo Czigler (Győző Czigler) who started to build Szechenyi Furdo in May 1909. \n  \n\nChain Bridge\n\n\nAnother of the musts when it comes to Budapest things to do: the Chain Bridge. It was the first bridge to permanently connect Buda and Pest and was completed in 1849. At the time\, the Chain Bridge was considered to be one of the wonders of the world and the architect was so immensely proud of his work that he challenged anyone to find fault with the bridge. It is said that when it was discovered that the lions that stand guard at either end are missing their tongues\, the architect committed suicide.\n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nMosque of Pasha Qasim\n\nThis fantastic building was originally erected in the latter half of the 16th Century whilst the country was under the control of the Ottoman Empire. \nAlthough it was designed as a mosque (the minaret was removed from the building by Jesuits in 1766)\, it is now in use as a Roman Catholic Church. \nIt is one of the finest examples of Turkish architecture in the whole country. \nDespite its current use\, it is still possible to see inscriptions from the Koran in certain sections of the building. \n\n\n\nHungarian Parliament Building\n\n\nThe Hungarian Parliament Building is an amazing example of the Gothic Revival style of architecture. \nSitting on the banks of the Danube\, the building is currently the largest in Hungary and the tallest in Budapest.Hundreds of spires and arches sit around an impressive central dome\, which looks out across a large square\, where political rallies often take place.Thanks to creative lighting\, the building looks even more impressive at night. \n\n  \nNecropolis of Sopianae \nThe Necropolis of Sopianae is one of Hungary’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites. \nIn the 4th Century\, Pécs (then known as Sopianae by the Roman Empire) was an important Christian stronghold\, and this Necropolis displays a mixture of Christian and Roman influences. \nThe painted frescos and sarcophaguses which can be seen at the site are very interesting examples of early Christian artworks. \nAs the city of the dead expanded\, other collections of tombs sprung up around the city but these have less cultural importance than the main Christian works. \nMemento Park\nThis fascinating museum park in the outskirts of Budapest is dedicated to the numerous Communist monuments and statues which used to stand around the city. \nMany of these statues were brought down by the general public after the Communist Regime fell in 1989\, or were removed and put in storage\, as nobody knew what to do with them. \nThe park was opened in 1993\, as a way to showcase these statues as an important part of the history of the country.As well as the statues\, there is a small museum\, which includes information about life under the communist regime. \n  \n\nThe Buda Hills\n\n\nThe Buda Hills\, which lie in the western half of the city\, are some of the greenest\, cleanest areas of the city.You will find numerous biking and hiking trails to follow\, which all have an easy-to-medium difficulty level.Alternatively take the Children’s Railway\, which is (almost) entirely staffed by children aged 10-14. Travelling to the highest point in the hills will give you a great view across the city\, and will give you the opportunity to see things from a different perspective. \n  \n\n  \nCentral Market Hall\nThe Central Market Hall or Great Market Hall is the most beautiful Budapest market hall. It was built in 1897 with beautiful tiled roofs and a colourful facade of patterned orange bricks. Although the Central Market Hall (Vasarcsarnok) was pretty damaged during WW2\, it has been restored perfectly in the 1990s. “Budapest’s biggest indoor market is the sort of place where you can wander for hours\, until sensory overload kicks in.Though it’s a popular tourist stop—and there are a raft of stalls selling Hungarian dolls\, embroidered linens\, glassware\, and other souvenirs—plenty of locals do their regular food shopping here as well.” (Frommer’s travel guide) That’s true\, Hungarians buy their daily fruit-vegetable intake here too (although penny-pinching Hungarians would go to Lehel ter Market Hall).\n  \n\n\nGo on a Pub Crawl of Budapest’s Ruin Bars\n \n\nThis may sound new if you never been to Budapest\, but old timer tourists know that these are some of the best nightlife spots to visit in the city. If you ever considered a bar crawl with Pub Crawl Budapest\, you are at the right place.\nBasically these are bars in ruin but set in elegant Monarchy era buildings. Instead of being renovated and made into high-quality pubs they keep their run-down exterior. They are usually furnished with old communist era artefacts and are filled with that eccentric hipster aesthetic.
