Separating the Assam valley from the plains of Bangladesh, hilly Meghalaya (‘the abode of clouds’) is a cool, pine-fresh mountain state set on dramatic horseshoes of rocky cliffs. Cherrapunjee and Mawsynram are among the wettest places on Earth; most of the rain falls between June and September, creating very impressive waterfalls and carving out some of Asia’s longest caves.

 

Day 1 (July 20): 

9 am: Land Early morning in Guwahati and start a road trip towards Shillong.

12-1pm: Check-in hotel

We will explore the beautiful city and feel the magic of kind of North East, Meghalaya

Day 2 (July 21): Waterfalls & Worlds Biggest Cave Fish World (Krem Chympe)

 

Krem Chympe is the 5th longest cave in India. Hidden in the forests of Jaintia Hills, Krem Chympe and Chympe Waterfalls are two such places that will completely amaze you. if you are lucky then you can see the world’s biggest cave fish also here. Krem Chympe, an offbeat world which will surprise you with its raw beauty and road is full of adventure.

We will travel to explore waterfalls and start our journey to Dawki with exploring some off the most gorgeous waterfalls of the Northeast.

 

6am Breakfast 

We will explore one of the most beautiful waterfalls of Meghalaya

In the evening we will reach the clearest lake in India, i.e Dawki River.

 

We will stay in the tents tonight!

Day 3 (July 22) DAWKI

 

Dawki is famous for its crystal-clear river called Umngot, which flows through the village. The Umngot River is a major tourist attraction, and its transparent waters allow visitors to see the riverbed and fish swimming beneath the surface.The suspension bridge over the Umngot River, known as the Dawki Bridge or Dawki Bridge of Love, is a significant landmark in the area and offers breathtaking views of the river and surrounding landscapes.

Mawlynnong Village

Mawlynnong Village has earned the distinction of being the cleanest village in Asia. It is situated 90 km. from Shillong and besides the picturesque village, offers many interesting sights such as the Living Root bridge, waterfalls, orchards and unique boulder formations.

Day 4 (July 23) Bamboo trail

The Bamboo Trail is known for its serene ambience, with the rustling of bamboo leaves and the gentle sway of the tall bamboo shoots creating a peaceful atmosphere. As you walk along the trail, you can appreciate the beauty of the towering bamboo trees and the intricate patterns they create against the sky.

Day 5 (July 24) Double Decker Living Root Bridge

The Double Decker Living Root Bridge is a marvel of bioengineering, where the roots of ancient rubber trees are trained to form a bridge over a river. It consists of two levels, hence the name “Double Decker.” The bridge is strong enough to support the weight of multiple people and is still used by the local villagers as a means of crossing the river.

Day 6 (July 25) Dommurok View Point

Markham Valley, is a vantage point from which there is a broad view of the low-lying hills from the hill’s summit. Depending on your luck, just after the rains in the early morning, you can witness a beautiful sight of a cloud formation covering these hills.

Day 7 (July 26) Shillong (Easy Day)

Early Morning we will leave for Guwahati and board our flights!

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
• Carry light snacks, fruits and water as the food might not be to your liking. Don’t travel empty stomach.
• Carry your identity proof with you
• Also carry medicines for headache, fever etc. for your own benefit
• Carry sufficient woolen clothes to keep you warm as the weather is quite chilly out there
• Caps and full sleeves clothing is advisable
• Carry sunscreen of 30 SPF and above and mosquito repellent.
